I have to watch Elf. That movie is a classic and no movie will be able to compare to that in how awesome it is.

Okay it's Christmas time once again, and as with every other X-mas season, it just doesn't feel complete without watching certain holiday specials. A friend somewhat sheepishly admitted to me today that he had bought the "Charlie Brown Christmas" on DVD because it's his favorite. So be honest, what is your holiday guilty pleasure?

I did the same thing. I also got a couple of DVDs of the claymation, stop motion animation Christmas shows from way back when. I'm trying a lot of other things this year; music, videos, going to see lights, going to every Christmas party....just to try and feel something.....like I used to.....so far it's not working, and I think I'm getting depressed .......my last hope is Midnight Mass. It's something that I have done since a kid and Christmas isn't Christmas without it......Midnight is special. I've been to Christmas Mass at other times, but it just isn't the same.

Oh.... "Elf" is my favorite Christmas movie.

I forgot all about the claymations. It isn't Christmas w/o Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer or a Year w/o a Santa Claus. I've got to confess I love X-mas movies/show. Like "White Christmas", I still laugh every time I see it remembering my son watching it w/ me when he was 17, the next day he cursed me the entire day because he kept humming the songs at school.

I understand your mental state, sometimes feel a little blue as well, found mimosas work wonders But seriously you have the right idea create some new traditions for yourself. I always feel better decorating a beautiful tree (usually 8 ft. w/ 1200 +/- lights), if you have a task that you can focus on and conquer it usually gives you a sense of purpose which defeats depression every time. There is always helping other people, mind you I'm not a bleeding heart liberal but years ago had a acquaintance stuck in the hospital on Christmas and it cheered him immensely to have a quick visit and it didn't cost me too much effort but it felt great. Hope you find something to inspire you!!!

"Charlie Brown Christmas", "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer", "Joyeux Noel", "A Christmas Carol" (both the George C. Scott , and Patrick Stewart performances), "Blackadder's Christmas", "Ghost of Christmas Eve", "The Nativity Story", and, of course: "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".

Nightmare Before Christmas, Haruhi Movie and Angel Beats.
I think Angel Beats fits the theme of Christmas nicely. The scene on Ep 7 is incredible.

Mine is Scrooge w/ Albert Finney.

Mine would have to be "A Christmas Story" (1983) If you have not seen it I highly commend it, it's one of the most iconic American Christmas films.
