How much money is too much to spend in one week on manga? I've noticed my paychecks lately going towards this a lot, and thought it would be a fun topic to see what people think is TOO much spending in a week on manga?

More than your food budget. Eat first, then buy Manga...then worry about rent.

Haha. At first I was like, wow this is a responsible answer... then I saw that the rent part was saved for last. But it's so true.

Yeah bills and food first then decide out of how much is left you want to save for Manga. These days Manga is expensive, not like when I first started reading it and you could buy an issue for $3 so buying five or ten at a time wasn't that big a deal. Nowadays that will cost you nearly $100!

$3? I'm way jealous. I've found almost prefect condition used manga for $5.50 and new $7.99 at a bookstore in my area called Powell's books. They have a great selection too. But I've still spent like $60 in the past week or so on it.

I've started buying digital manga where I can, but otherwise I'll try to buy 2-3 volumes at a time when I have the money, which is probably only a couple times a year. I don't live by Powells, stuck with Barnes and Noble and they don't really have that great of a selection.

I should add that this was 20 years ago. I still have most of the manga I bought back then in fact.

When you're left broke, penniless and starving, you know it is too much.

Yeah, I feel very lucky having a bookstore like that in my city. If I didn't I would probably mostly use Amazon. I've just been reading them so much lately it's been hard to not buy them. But usually, I will do 2-3 volumes at a time as well.
