The worst I've watched lately has to be "Hayate Can't Take My Eyes Off This Train Wreck". I was willing to give the side story a shot, but it was DOA. The jump from Hayate No Gotoku to this was painful. The characters looked ridiculous. The way they pushed the story all the way up to the point it started was jarring as hell.

...and yes, I hate how my favorite characters were pushed to the background.

I agree with this. But I wish they would make a Season 3 though, and not continue the "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" series.

Musashi Gundoh and Garzey's Wing are most certainly the best worst animes ever. Mars of Destruction, Master of Martial Hearts, and Roots Search are probably the worst and least enjoyable, I think.
I have a lot of animes I just can't stand or hated, but I don't think any of them would really qualify for "the worst" objectively, aside from the five I just mentioned.

As an anime fan, the only genre I can't stand to watch is Trading Card Games Series and nothing is worse then The Whole of the Cardfight Vanguard Series (I Can't stand the show at all, the characters are awful and the game is bloody crap).

I watched nine episodes of the original series as any show Crunchyroll license in my region I tend to try (and the crunchyroll page at the time said it would be running for 13 episodes and if that's the case I tend to stick around - no matter how bad the show is). This is the 1st and only series that Crunchyroll has streamed that I have watched that I have QUIT

I've never met anyone apart from the owners of a store in my home town (Groovy Frog in Ramsgate, UK) who actually like this series (although I'm not a fan most people in my town that are into TCG play Yu-Gi-Oh) and they assure me that cardfight vanguard is the greatest anime series in recent years, I said you obviously haven't watched anything like Madoka Magica yet which they agreed they haven't

The cardfight vanguard anime is just for the promotion of the game. But its good/okay if you play tcg's yourself, So, just stfu if you dont know anything about tcgs.

Sword Ass Online

Just because you hate Asuna doesnt mean you can dislike the anime itself. I was fascinated with all the aspects of the anime... except for Asuna.

and im totally not stalking you

Read my forum post? Sword Art Online went into complete crap. Plus, people don't recognize the whole flaws of this anime. There are so many reasons on why this show is bad. Such as Kirito being a Gary Stu character (too perfect and good at everything). How plain stupid the villains are. We would never know why Kayabe trapped the people inside the game, or maybe it was just for his amusent and then he just randomly commits suicide. The second villain is just evil for no reason, not to mention how he gets turned on by raping Asuna's virtual body that's not even one bit real! Hahahaha! This show is a joke.

Kirito is driven to do good by the guilt he feels from abandoning people along his journey. He left the first guy he met behind, got a bunch of friends killed, but survived himself. As a child, he trained in kendo and had a strong mental fortitude, which served him well as far as reaction time in the game. His overall reaction time was the fastest of any player in the game, allowing him to perform skill combinations without the assistance of the game code. In this way, he was an example of skill superseding stats.

Kayabe trapped people in the game because he was tired of the world. He wanted to create his own world to live in, and to gather people and lead them. His ultimate goal was to be the leader to the end of the game, and then betray everyone, becoming the final boss. The result would be the most epic story every created in a game, and the most moving and emotional story ever told, for those individuals. In the end, he realizes what he's done and becomes half hearted about the idea. When Asuna and Kirito both overpower the suppressants being used on their minds to move their avatar bodies to attack him while paralyzed and such, he realizes the strength of the mind, and fully understands what he's tried to do, and ends up taking his own life.

The second villain is an old dude who thinks asuna is beautiful, but she flatly rejects him in real life. He also sees potential in the full dive simulated reality to possible affect the memory of individuals directly through electrical impulses in the brain. When SAO ends, he hijacks 300 minds and locks them in the game to experiment on. He's a sick bastard who wants to put asuna 'in the kitchen'. He gets off at seeing her terrified face, and thus abuses her in the game to see the reactions that he can't get while in real life.

hope that helps you appreciate the level of thought they put into the character progression in the anime. I've never read the light novels.

*Ahem* If you have not read the light novels. Then you probably made up this crap in your head. The anime doesn't show reveal to us these information. Are you dense in the head?

The anime shows us all that information. You are just too dumb, you didnt even understand the anime but you still call it ''bad''. Thats just sad.

Guys like them are just idiot trolls who are so obsessed with SAO and series like that, that they go from threads to threads and takes every little opportunity to disparage the series. They hate it so much that they can't stop talking about it. It's just so damn funny. Best thing to do is to ignore them.

It's so laughable whenever anyone choose highly popular and successful series to name as the worst. Yeah, right. They are so bad that's why they're making tons of money. Guess the majority who like or love successful series all have lousy tastes, and they're are the privilege few who truly know what's really good. Don't think so. Pick a truly bad series, especially one that's not making any money, and maybe you'll have some credibility.

A lot of harem, ecchi, and romance anime seem to strike me as the worst, but the worst anime has none of those listed as it's genre.

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo

I had to watch my niece and nephew, and I didn't want to watch Naruto. I saw this as a win win. After what seemed like a 2hr first episode, Naruto seemed like the best anime in the history of the universe.

It made me blurt out "WTF IS THIS S*^%" without knowing what I was saying out loud (I try not to curse around kids). Something about his Fist of the Nose Hair power seemed dumb.

Chaos;Head was one of the few other anime to make me stand up and say something to that degree, but only out of confusion.

Some people just don't like certain shows that are popular to others. Clannad is very popular, but I hated it (just didn't appeal to me, or draw me in). Some people just don't like your favorite anime. It's a fact of life. Not all people who don't like SAO are idiotic trolls.

I've always maintain that everyone has their own preferences and tastes. I do dislike a couple of highly popular series. BUT I definitely would not pick them as the absolute worst. To be successful, they must have some merits. Of course it is possible that it may be the worst for someone, especially those who hasn't watch that many anime, but I highly doubt it. You dislike Clannad but would you say it's the worst?

When I say idiotic trolls, I don't mean everyone who dislike SAO. It's not everyone's cup of tea. Read what I said again. I'm referring to those that takes every opportunity to put down a popular series, not just SAO. They see threads such as this or specific threads pertaining to a series, you can bet they'll be posting in those threads.

As an example, check who thinks SAO is the worst in this thread. Now, go to any threads that has SAO in the topic, or topics with over-rated, hated or any other adjectives. You'll find the same people there putting it down. If you dislike a series so much, would you make it a point to search topics about those series and post in them? Most people would just ignore them except for these idiotic trolls .

Easy as I just watched it a few days ago. Cuticle Detective Inaba. I really wanted to commit suicide due to wasting 30 minutes of my time watching that stupid crap.

Naruto is just... too many words to describe how much I hate it.
And School Days was pathetic too.
