Official Anime Buyfag Thread
Posted 12/17/12
I don't really see a problem with having a thread that shows off one's anime collection or purchases besides the fact it might run into problems with the 2 images per post rule but anyways, here is the [currently] unofficial Anime Buyfag Thread.

Rules of the thread:

1. Anime-related purchases only (i.e. DVDs/BDs, games (as long as it has an anime or inspired by anime), figurines, graphic novels, etc.)

2. 2 images per post only. If you have more than two images to show off, hyperlink them -- this means to put them in a [ url][/ url] tag.

2a. If you have a very large image, spoiler tag that shit.

3. Provide some explanation for your purchase -- one sentence will do. This is a caution implemented to make the thread have some discussion value and not a typical picture sharing thread.

4. Have fun talking about your purchases/collection so as long as it follows the Crunchyroll rules.

Yes, I do notice there is another thread about collecting anime DVDs/BDs but considering it started off as a question, I decide to create an unofficial thread for other items; feel free to use both threads. This thread is primarily for figurines but can include other anime-related items.

My recent purchase:

Oh, the annoyances of using Registered SAL. . . I had to go to my local post office today to pick up Inia; it was annoying because I didn't know where it was (I don't have a smartphone either) so I ended up walking about 20 minutes around the neighborhood before finally reaching it. Nonetheless, here are photos of my purchase.

It was very annoying placing her on the stand; I feared breaking the legs or the pegs but I managed to open up her legs and put her in her place. Gosh, that sounded perverted but I am a pervert so that's expected.

Different angle:

Next to Cryska:

The motherland. . . is beautiful.

And here's where I would place the two but unfortunately, they'll end up in their plastic prisons so my mother won't find out that I play with dollies or collect them.

With both Inia and Cryska in my collection, I believe I am ready for any BETA attack. Laser class ain't got nothing on these two. I think I'm done with Muv Luv figurines unless there are Meiya or Yuuhi ones in stock.

Beautiful figures of Cryska and Inia!

I like import BDs myself...

All of Dusk Maiden of Amnesia. Such an emotional series. The extra episode in volume 6 is great. It is just called episode 13 "Taima Otome" and makes me wish for more. Fun series, beautiful visuals, great characters, wonderful music.

And all the Tari Tari out so far... Amazing music, another emotional series with great characters. The postcards from the end credit scenes are beautiful too. Sound is amazing on Blu-ray! Can't wait for volumes 5 and 6 next year!

I really never thought I'd see a buyfag thread outside of /a/. I'll post a picture of my massive Sj magazine collection later.

I just received my Fate/Extra LE game for the PSP today; I decided to grab this when I saw a figma included with the Fate/Extra/CCC game which is set to be released in February/March.

This is the box:

http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l499/EmbraceHope/IMG_00331_zpsaaf7a72c.jpg

The contents within the box: (Consists of a LE soundtrack/artbook and the game in an UMD case).

The soundtrack/artbook: (The artbook is glue with the case; I believe this is a chipboard type of case).

And, the first page of the artbook which contains a NSFW picture of Saber Red.

I've also ordered two figurines from AmiAmi; they're being delivered now and should arrive in two-three weeks. The orders are both from Hyakka Ryoran: Samurai Girls and the characters are: Yagyu Jubei and Tokugawa Sen. They look lovely and they look to be a great addition to my collection; I bought them because I enjoyed the series and these two are my favorite characters of the series. The show will be getting a second season so I'm expecting much more ink blots as censorship and more of the central characters.

I've been a fan of Black★Rock Shooter and Huke's art for a long time, so I decided to splurge a little and get these.

the Black★Rock Shooter limited edition PSP game box set contains the PSP game, along with an art book, and White★Rock Shooter Figma only available in this box set. the figma next to it is the game-model Black★Rock Shooter with her signature cannon, sword, and a wing-frame used for aerial combat.

limited edition Huke artbook box set. the artbook is a high quality hardcover book which contains 200+ pages of Huke art, mostly from Black★Rock Shooter and Steins;Gate. the figma is a limited edition Black★Rock Shooter "BEAST" figma, only available in this box set.

I need to get the rest of the Black★Rock Shooter series figma, but they're damn expensive. I'll get them eventually, though.

Seeing as I plan to get the Fate/Extra CCC PSP game which comes with a Saber Extra Figma, I'm curious as to how much your BRS PSP game costed, aidenraine. The Fate/Extra CCC LE will cost me about $100 without shipping and I'm sensitive when it comes to shipping since it can be drastic amount when importing; did your import cost you much? I hope my shipping will be $20 at most because I had to pay about 4k yen (~$44) shipping for my two figs mentioned above.

it was just under $139 total, only $25 for shipping. I was actually surprised when I ordered it, because standard shipping was something around $45, but expedited was only $25..

Ah, I see, hopefully my shipping will be around the $20 mark; also, this is a great time for imports as the dollar to yen conversion is at a good rate: it's currently 86.70 yen = $1 and it has been increasing, from what I noticed, for the past week. Start buying more stuff, guys! I have to go easy on my wallet now though since I just spent nearly $700 on computer accessories and other imports this month.

$700! Damn dude. Them are some big boy bucks now. "LAWL"

Maybe you should invest in a camera next time so that you can show off a little better. "LAWL"

Anyways, I thought that I should post here just because of my "first" official "Anime" purchase. It's not really a "BuyFag" kind of thing, but it's faggoty enough. I got it just because I was bored and a couple of folks from a certain thread egged me on to get it. I never really do buy Anime stuff nor even own anything of the like before this. The most Anime related thing that I ever owned was like a Hello Kitty pen that I took from this Asian chick or are some old Pokemon stuff when I was younger. Though, pop-culture stuff doesn't really count.

Anywho, this little girl cost me around 50 bones. It's not too bad.

I contemplated investing in one of 'em fancy CANON T3i before switch to getting a cheaper 16 megapixel CANON PowerShot A3400 IS; it gets decent quality photos under the correct lighting and angles; being the clumsy person I am, I fail to photograph stationary objects well enough to show off their true beauty. The Fate/Extra LE photos are evident of my lower than amateur level skills. I can only justify myself by saying that I only took one photo instead of multiple ones which is how a photographer should work. I won't let you down next time, LOL. I'll take photos of the figurines in better lighting and maybe a better landscape as well -- my desk just does no justice at all.

And to keep things relevant, a photo of my Bakemonogatari BD LE from Aniplex:

Goddamn it, I am so pissed off right now; I decided to use SAL for one of my figurines and it ended up at the post office. . . I hate you USPS, I really do. I apparently went to the local post office and picked up my package and returned home just now to find out that another package was delivered while I gone; it's frustrating because USPS doesn't redeliver and their service, in my location, is terrible -- I had to wait 20-30 minutes in line just to pick up a SAL parcel (which I was told by friends that they usually leave at the door for the delivery attempt). I'll be going back to the office tomorrow just to pick up my two figurines.

Anyways, what I picked up from the office today:
Nate (Neito) Mitotsudaira from Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere out of the box:

http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l499/EmbraceHope/IMG_00401_zpsbee045e7.jpg

The figurine comes in several components, namely the hair -- A LOT OF HAIR --, the body, and the base; I've already attacked the figurine onto the base and there's an extra hole for a small stand that balances the hair. There's also a pamphlet which was nice but it was in Japanese so I couldn't understand a bit; it contained some drawings, possibly from the LN.

Frontal View (with terrible lighting. . .):

Back view; look at that rocket engine hair!

Right and left side of the fig:

And, finally, a closeup of the face.

Spending money can count as a hobby right?

Going back to the OP, I'm not into spending in my hobbies, nor have some kind of drive of getting them. Though, I were to buy one I would get something so random and obscure that not even hardcore Anime fans can recognize the character.
