Quickest Dropped Show: Girls Und Panzer
My anime of the year: I have a lot in mind, and I'm tempted to give it to Gintama after giving in, watching it, and making it through the whole series...but as far as standalone 2012 anime's go, I'm going to give it to Mirai Nikki. With a plot concept that I never would've imagined myself liking in a million years, the action, mystery, and horror elements of this show somehow worked brilliantly and every episode was an adrenaline rush picking right up from the last nightmarish event, engaging me and keeping my on the edge of my seat. I wish they explained the ending a little bit better like they do in the manga, but that can be looked up easily on wikipedia and does not impede the series in any way. Good job coming out of nowhere and making my heart pound week after week, Mirai Nikki.
