Nope, unless some kind of nuclear war just suddenly starts, then maybe.

I highly doubt it is the end of the world. And I find it funny people believe what a religion states as the end of the world yet, they don't even follow or believe the religion.

However I have heard two interesting theories which make sense. One is the the magnetic poles on the planets are adjusting into a new cycle. This doesn't mean "the end" but just a new cycle, which it isn't odd for things to shift over thousands of years.

Another one is that it marks the end of the age. Supposedly we are in the age of the fish right now, it could mark the start of the age of Aquarius. These two theories could even coincide with each other in a sense.

All in all, I get payed on the 23rd and am planning to get that paycheck and finish my Christmas shopping.

I'm glad the world is ending on Friday because then I will stop seeing people saying "I could care less" when what they mean to say is "I couldn't care less".

GAH!! Drives me nuts.

But, but...what if they do care, just not very much?

You should request to be paid on the 20th and use the end of the world as your reason for asking.

After the first 50 or so false alarms you'd think people would stop worrying about it.

Actually, the Mayan calendar takes into account of leap year. That calendar is more accurate than the Gregorian one that we use.

well..the Mayan calender did not have leap years so the world would have already have ended...just saying...

"There have been 514 leap years since Caesar created them in 45BC. The Mayan calendar did not have the concept of a leap year, so if you do the math, the world should have ended 514 days sooner than 12-21-2012: sometime in mid-2011."

Can we confirm this information with Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau?

What? I'm not sure if you're serious or not.
