OK I can log in fine on the website, but for some reason it won't let me log in on Xbox, keeps saying 'The data request was malinformed' I've changed my password and it still hasn't resolved itself, what's going in?.

The next thing would be to take it a step farther from your Xbox and have you try setting the DNS on your router.

And you'll probably see me hootin' and hollerin' in the forums once it is fixed! This is probably the biggest issue I'm trying to have resolved atm!!

Just wanted to say, the app works perfectly like... 85% of the time but the other 15(which is becoming more frequently lately) it either skips through the video, has to stop and load a billion times, or kicks me out of the video/menu saying I can't connect to the server. I'm saddened by this considering I've been using the app on 360 exclusively now since the ps3 version is just.. damn. lol

On the 360 App right now, and says to go to the Crunchyroll app at xbox.com/status ........ This keeps happening constantly now. This is the first time this has happened. I'm currently trying to watch Beelzebub's 4th Episode. I went to xbox.com/status and say's that it's up and running. Usually the Xbox App doesn't have this kind of issue, unless Crunchyroll is going through an update or something...? Server maintenance? Does crunchyroll do that routinely?

Ah well that probably won't be possible, I'll just have to make do.

Please hoot and holler loudly so I know it's been fixed! XD

I'm constantly getting 'The data retrieved from the request was malformed' when trying to log in too.

It's been like this for days now

I am currently watching naruto shippuden and the sound in the anime will cut out and stop playing while the stream keeps playing. I have to back out and restart the video several times until it works

Still lots of streaming problems on the Xbox for me. Stream quality fluctuates between 720p and a mosaic of giant blocks a few times a minute. It's most distracting.

Come on guys, streaming can't be that hard. Everyone else seems to manage it okay.

I think it was mentioned earlier that they were having issues with a server cluster somewhere, and they thought that it may be fixed.. Maybe not.

Well I just watched something less than an hour ago and it was a total mess, so it certainly isn't fixed yet.

Perhaps you should let Funimation know that.

As I recall, however, you are not in the United States or Canada, so I doubt you've had any experience with them, or The Anime Network. No doubt you using juggernauts like Netflix and YouTube for comparison; companies that are huge in comparison, and no doubt have IT budgets that dwarf CR's annual revenue.

Of course, these companies never experience any problems of their own, right?:

Content distribution is a very demanding and complex task. It is so demanding and resource intensive that Crunchyroll does not actually stream their shows. They use CDN providers. Akamai and Limelight are two CDN providers that have been mentioned on these forums that are used by Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll is at the mercy of their CDN to deliver smooth video playback, and part of that has to do with how many servers they rent from their CDNs. Crunchyroll is actually a tiny company compared to other streaming services like Netflix, Youtube, and Hulu and only has a fraction of the amount of money of the other companies to spend on renting servers. Services like Netflix are able to cope with high demand better than Crunchyroll because they have millions of dollars they can put into renting hundreds of servers across dozens of CDN providers, where as Crunchyroll may only rent a few dozen servers on two CDN providers.* Bjaker has posted saying that they are trying to work with their CDN providers to improve streaming, as there are servers in certain locations that are having difficulty streaming to many Crunchyroll members in certain locals (Part of the troubleshooting that Bjaker has members do is determine what server they are trying to stream from). As Crunchyroll's membership grows they will be able to put more money towards renting more servers that will help improve streaming. Even Netflix has issues some times. Last night while watching House of Cards at my friend's house, the quality would jump between low SD and medium HD, never reaching high HD.

If the Xbox 360 is your only means of watching Crunchyroll, I recommend canceling your subscription until video playback is fixed. The CR PS3 app had a very bumping start with choppy video playback, but they eventually fixed it and now the PS3 app streams fine for most people. I suspect that the Xbox 360 app will be fixed in time as well.

*Not actual numbers, just making an example.

I'm having stream quality issues with the xbox app as well. I can stream 1080p with no issues on my pc, but average 2 or 3 bars for the app at most and never hit HD. I've tried switching DNS servers as well with no change in stream quality. All other apps hit 1080p with no issues so I know it is isolated to the Crunchy app. Will there be an app update soon to resolve these issues?
