After trying the app for free I simply couldn't resist to go premium just to watch the weekly releases in HD. But right after I payed things started to go from good to bad. Lately I've started to experience major issues with the app. Trying to streaming anything seems to be impossible atm when it stops to buffer every 5sec. It took me 13min just to get past the opening on one show.

At first this wasn't that big of a deal. It usually happened when I watched Naruto etc. on the release day. But now its the same for every show. What I've been noticing is also that my connection has been dropping. I started out with 3bars and I'm currently at 1 if you can even call that a connection. At this point it almost feels like I'm paying for nothing. But I don't wish to cancel if the problem can be fixed or sorted out soon.

Here's my conclusion. Since I have a pretty good bandwidth (90+ Mbit/s) and live in Sweden the problem has to be with either M$ or CR servers. It may be so that they're currently switching servers causing a major lagfest for the people in my area or that someone simply just hates me.

That sort of limits my steps forward, but no worries.

Let's see if changing the DNS on your Xbox helps with this.

I would try Google's DNS - 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4
Or OpenDNS - 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220

Let me know if this helps!

Lately when watching anime on the Crunchyroll app, the animes i watch, during random times they do a time skip. The time skip is atleast 10-15 seconds. It gets kinda annoying because sometimes it's hard to realize when it happened and if you aren't paying attention, you could miss some important things. Sorry if this issue has been stated, but I was wondering if there are going to be future updates to this problem.

Thanks for this information! We'll try to see if we can find a root cause of this and if there's anything we can do without updating the Xbox client itself for a quicker resolution.

I'm having a slightly different problem, but it seems to share some characteristics of what the other person posted. I am finding that I get "Crunchyroll Server Unavailable" errors here and there while watching episodes. However, much like the other person's problem, it only happens on certain videos and it always happens at the same time. After getting the error I can watch a different video in its entirety, or I can fast forward for a bit and start watching again. But if I try to watch anything in a ~15 second window around where I had the problem, it will play for no more than a couple of seconds before giving me "Crunchyroll Server Unavailable" again.

Although "Crunchyroll Server Unavailable" sounds like it would be a network or server issue, since I can play other videos (or other parts of the same video) just fine, that seems to show my network & the server are just fine.

It just happened now in Oreimo season 2 episode 4, around the 13 minute, 35 second mark.

EDIT: When i came back and tried again several hours later I was able to get through that section just fine. But I tried numerous times to get through that part earlier, while I was able to play other videos just fine.

I just wanted to say that I've been having problems with my 360 app for the last day or so continuing into today. I can't really watch anything on it because everything has to stop and buffer every couple seconds/minutes. I just took a speed test and as far as I can tell.. it's not my connection. Can someone tell me what to do..? lol I just paid my membership again today and it's pretty messed up that I can't actually use the service.

Okay to start off this is my first time ever posting on this site, and the reason for it is this. when i go to get on my CR app on my 360 when i keep getting a message saying something about malformed data. This problem just started happening today, and never has before in the past. I've checked all of my log in info and its all solid so no mistakes trying to log in or some rubbish like that or I wouldn't be able to be on my pc posting this message. Anyway if anyone has any constructive information please send me a message or just reply on here.

Can you please try the following.

Log out of the app on your Xbox.
Go to the following link: https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct/?action=devices
Deactivate the listed Xbox.
Log into the app again on your Xbox.

Let me know if this resolves the problem.

I think it's awesome that i now can watch the old episodes of Gintama in widescreen, but i was recently watching an older show on Netflix that was streamed in normal 4:3 like the old episodes of Gintama.

But when i use fullscreen on crunchyrolls app the subtitles go outside the screen, so i use stretch with is fine. however on Netflix i use fullscreen and the text stay where they are no matter the ratio of the sceen Changes.

if it's possible i would love to be able to use Fullscreen as intended.

I love elements of the xbox 360 interface, specifically when you look at your queue, it shows the current episode that you are on, including a "coming soon" if you are caught up on a simulcast and are waiting for the next episode.

I also intermittently run into problems where the video stops playing until I exit the app and go back in. I doubt it is a connection issue, as my roku box works fine, and my xbox apps for other video services also work fine. It could just be a problem with the video app (I run into the same problem with Hulu on my roku box).

I would prefer to be able the scrolling through your queue to "wrap," in that I would like to go from my first series to the last (most recently added series). Also, I would like to have an option on that queue view though to either pull up the series or to remove it from your queue when you are done. If that's already in place in the Queue mode, I don't think it's apparent.

That is because the Netflix app uses soft subtitles while the subtitles in the Crunchyroll videos are hard encoded into the video, AKA forced subtitles.

Why would you want to stretch or zoom in on 4:3 content anyways? You are missing out on content that is no longer being shown on the screen when you zoom in. It is the same thing as cropping a picture.

I've never understood people that are so bothered by not having the content fill the screen that they are willing to either distort it or throw some of it away.
