was watching star driver and every episode was constanly buffering so I rebooted my modem and now it wont let me log in on my xbox it keeps saying the data retrieved was malformed

So is the skipping backwards and forwards in time coming from the same problem as the buffering and server unavailable errors?

I'm not sure what would cause this but one thing I just recently started noticing is every time I load up CR on the Xbox it's asking me to login again. Previously I had put in my info once and I assumed it was saved but just yesterday it started. Needless to say it's rather annoying to re-enter my email and password every time I want to use the app. Is this something with the servers or was there a setting added that I missed to save login information? Please respond.

Please respond. This just started for me too. The app keeps making me re-submit all of my login info every single time I want to use it. This only started in the last day or two and is some kind of glitch on CR's part. I'm being patient and hoping this is due to them trying to hunt down their server problems, but as far as my practical use and enjoyment of the app goes it seems to be getting worse and worse. Go here & delete the Xbox Info: https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct/?action=devices Then try logging in again on your device. This should resolve the problem. |

Just used my free trial and having problems with buffering too (including issues today). I have been watching 'Say 'I love you.' I have got 80mb fibre optic and I do not have problems with any other hd videos. I am keen to become a premium member but I'd want the Xbox app to work properly. I love watching anime in HD (would be great if eventually its in 1080p on Xbox!) so it's really annoying when the quality is changing all the time due to buffering issues. It's constantly pausing as well which ruins the whole experience for me. What is the current situation with the PS3 crunchyroll ap? Has it been released in Europe yet and have they started streaming high definition? I'll be looking forward to some updates about improved service so I can become a premium member

It streams up to 720p (like the Xbox app) Apologies for streaming issues, we have been working with our CDN to resolve these. |

I was having the same login issues where the Xbox seems to forget my password and user name. I already cleared the Xbox from the Crunchyroll device page and I am still experiencing the same issue.

Troubleshooting involves first collecting as much information as possible. If you don't tell CR about a problem you are having, and the steps you have already taken to try and fix the problem, then they have no idea of knowing that a problem exists in the first place. Don't forget, this app was just recently released. CR has to collect information, figure out what is causing the problems, fix the problems, test the new app to make sure the updated app works on their end, and then submit the app to the Live store and wait for Microsoft to approve the app. (For the iOS app, the approval process is sometimes the longest part in updating the app as Apple likes to take their sweet time). Even after doing all of that, there will be new bugs that show up after an app is updated, and then the process gets started all over again. Even the large tech companies go through the same thing. Mac OS and Windows are continuously updated with bug fixes and patches. When Netflix launched the PS3 streaming app, it was a very bumpy release and it took them a couple months until they released a version that was stable for most people. The current Youtube app on the PS3 has been useless for a lot of users ever since it was released and it doesn't even support HD, and Youtube has not even said anything about fixing it. The CR PS3 app is way ahead in functionality and features than the current Youtube app. Granted, the CR PS3 app had playback issues when it was first released, but they were resolved in less than two months with high definition playback following shortly afterwards, and the CR PS3 app was released at around the same time as the Youtube PS3 app, which goes to show that CR puts a lot of effort into their services since the Youtube app is still unusable for many users and still does not support HD video, even though it was released 5 months ago. (Two weeks after the CR PS3 app was released) Another thing is that Crunchyroll will reply to your emails and keep you up to date if you contact their customer support, which is more than what Youtube provides. The Crunchyroll Xbox app has only been out for 3 weeks, so CR needs to be given some time to work out the major bugs. What you can do is cancel your membership and wait until the problems are fixed, that way you are not paying for a service you are not using. Had the exact same problem as that guy. Tried what you said, and it worked exiting and restarting the app a couple of times. Then it pooped the bed and asked me to log in after I restarted the console.

There are some really sarcastic mods in this forum. Is this the typical response when faced with legit complaints from customers you have no practical or helpfull reply for? To the best of my knowledge you don't have the ability to cancel my Premium Membership or negate my billing agreement between Paypal and CR, but I'll be letting your superiors know about the offer after I finish this. My account has financial info attached to it and is set up for a Premium Membership. I was unaware at that point my 'free trial" continued and I still wasn't billed 'til after the end of the 2 weeks. Now if CR staff could put as much effort into fixing this problem as they do looking up customers info in misguided and immature attempts to make loaded comments... and making excuse after excuse about how understaffed they are. . . maybe maybe we could finally have something done about these problems we are experiencing. Thank you for your follow up. As you're unsatisfied with the service I've just cancelled your trial for you. |

Let me know if that helps. I followed these steps and everything was working again yesterday, however I just went to log in and I'm back to the same issue of having to re-enter my information. Also I was wondering if there's any reason in particular why my account was already charged for the upcoming month and if that's refundable. My trial period goes till the 22nd and I'm still not entirely sure if I'll be sticking with the service between the login and buffering issues. Assuming everything's straightened out within the coming weeks I'll stick around but otherwise it just doesn't seem like a worthwhile service for me :-/ |
