I would say Toradora!, but sometimes it's best to go out with a bang, with a few questions unanswered and for the audience to infer how the characters end up. The anime ended masterfully, with a feeling that, as in life, nothing is certain, but you're left with a good feeling because of Ryuji's devotion to Taiga and her rebirth; trying to right her life for the benefit of the future. Sorry, did I just go Plato on all of you? Anywho -- The only anime I think should go on and on and on and on is Sword Art Online. Maybe different versions, like a new maniac decides to repeat the crime with new characters and fresh scenarios. I think the premise of the anime is a goldmine, and in some ways has untapped potential.
Just a thought |

They…they took Code Geass away…wai? O wai?

Nichijou is the only show I can think of that I want(ed) to continue way, way past what it did. :c
Sword Art would've benefited from a while longer. It ended kind of abruptly. (if it's actually done? sorry if I'm mistaken) This doesn't really count because it's supposed to be finished eventually, but Nana needs more episodes. I wish they'd do a Kanbaru-heavy Monogatari series. But that's just a personal desire because she's my favorite. |

Hmm it's a tough pick, you'd have to pick something where even without a story it'd still be entertaining...
so... Bleach, SAO, Lucky Star's a good one, Samurai Pizza Cats... hmm... hard to say... even though I grew out of love with it Pokemon's another good one. |

Seems odd. I mean...isn't the whole point of watching an anime to enjoy it while it lasts, or is that just me? Actually, now that I think about it, I can't think of a single THING to not rot into something awful; I mean, what about shows like Fairly OddParents or Spongebob that WERE good....but they kept going with it, and it started to grow stale, and then grow bad. I don't want that to happen to, say, Soul Eater or Fullmetal Alchemist, that'd suck! Am I wrong?

One show I watched called Texhnolyze had the human race die off at the end in a mass of insanity and madness. Everyone in the show died. It wasn't a happy ending, but then again it was because the primary main character learned to really smile happily for the first time in his miserable life through the efforts of the secondary main character. Basically, to have a show like that continue would just be redundant not to mention impossible, what would they do? Animate the evolution of dead grass and barren wastes for the next billion years? |

With the exception of Gintama I find that really long running anime get very boring.
The main problem with really long series is that I kind of like my stories to have an ending to them. |

That was too close, you were almost a Jill Sandwich.
