Religions Supporting Scientific Advancement
Posted 12/19/12 , edited 12/20/12
It has been noted several religions support science, whereas other have condemned it, such as Christianity.

Science would have it that religions cannot be counted as scientific or relevant, but a faith can be counted useful by promoting the advancement of science.

Brainless.

If you had done some research, you would possibly have brought to this thread that i.e. Hinduism is supportive of scientific advancement.

What did you do instead? You acted as a pitiful minimod plastering the forum rules of ED in my topic when it is so easy to locate and review them for myself. To make you less agitated with the calming effects of warm milk, I will edit my first post to put you to bed.

you didn't have enough sense to post the information necessary to start this discussion in the first place, and instead posted a vague topic of a dubious nature in hopes others would catch on. Do us all a favor and adjust your attitude

Dubious to a person who sees things in only one way. We call that biased. Controlled by only one perspective seen as fact when it can be easily refuted with evidence.

Religions generally take the side of science when it is convenient... at least most western religions. The advancement of certain aspects of life, such as war fighting and methods of controlling the population have always been fully supported by pretty much any religion. Any group leaps at the chance to hold dominion over things that can be used to further their own aims. More theoretical schools of thought, and those schools which contradict dogma are shunned simply because they give the masses concrete proof that what is being preached isn't true.

So in that light, I suppose no religion fully supports science in its entirety on the grounds that science can and often does disillusion their sheep.
