That episode was almost a perfect wrap-up. Even though I'm pretty sure there will be another season, i got a good sense of finality from this ep. I wouldn't mind if it all ended there. I'm so glad that Asuna and Kirito are together, without any crazy stalker people or virtual worlds in between them. (I may have 'squealed a little bit when they kissed..) Also glad that Sugou got what he deserved. It did get a bit tense for a second though..
One thing I want to know is, what the hell did he say at the end? I don't like that they're still keeping secrets from me. T_T
*End Gushing*

what an awesome ending, went better than I expected. one thing im confused on is if Sugou's pain was carried over from the fight with Kirito, why didn't he suffer anywhere else except his eye?

I enjoyed this episode very much. Kirito and Asuna are reunited at last. I do think, however, that it could have continued on a little, and despite what others believe about it stoppig altogether or continuing wih the GGO arc, the final part makes me believe that there will be a "second" season just because it felt too open. And with The Seed up and running, don't you think it could lead into the GGO arc, especially with the SAO returnees? Those who have read the novels might be able to see where I'm going with this.

So, does this technically mean that if they did another arc, it would be a third season? Also, from the perspective of a casual outside (someone who just watches once and a while) I can imagine the question being "Why would they go back in?" Also, was that Asuna with the blue hair at the end? I would love another season, wrap up everything all together... I'd even love a series just about their school lives! That was the biggest draw I saw...
Oh, and does everyone from ALO now know that Kirito was the one that beat SAO? Seeing how they all were flying past him with the SAO oldies around him...

Great ending,
Asuna with the blue hair is just her avatar in ALO, she probably created a new character instead of bringing over her SAO one.
It was never explained in the LN if they all knew kirito was the one that beat SAO, might be, but never explained.
i hope they bring in the GGO arc and ofc the current novel arc,
PS: Sugou got what was coming to him

Yes, that was Asuna with the blue hair. She was an Undine by the looks of things. And i would have liked to see more of their lives outside of the game too (even an entire season, like you said Raktus).
Also, the SAO and ALO worlds combined gave us just one season of content (which I think they should have extended to a season each, but whatever), and the only other arc left is the GGO one, so maybe we will see more of their lives outside of the games seeing as there's less 'gaming content' in the same time period.
One more thing (I'm almost done, I promise.) is, what could possibly be the motive for GGO? By motive I mean, why are they playing and whats the ultimate goal? E.g. In SAO, it was to free everyone from the game and stop people dying. In ALO it was to free Asuna so she wouldn't be forced to marry Sugou. What scenario could possibly come up that would force them to play another VRMMO and make it interesting?

i make this spoiler just in case, it's from the GGO arc the reason kirito enters the game.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide
people start dying while playing GGO by a character named death gun and they (The gourverment's special task force for these kind of problems) send kirito in to participate in a tournament to find out if the rumour is true or not and how that person kills.
it's i think a favor that kirito owns them for giving him the name and location of Asuna after he woke up from the SAO incident.
