Wait, shouldn't you paste this in the Anime forum? Since this is about anime..right?

But anyways...I don't there is a lot. I don't care if the lead is black, or think there should be. Bee from Naruto seems Black, it just seems to be character design, Like Tyki from D.Gray Man, it's there to be...there...color is not really for diversity, but character design. There almost if no such thing as skin color in anime but the difference of power in race mostly superpowers...

Caucasian in some animes are funny. They are usually blond, snobby, curse and are very blunt and usually have blue eyes. It's really weird how the Japanese view most people from America in Anime world and it's weird and odd.... \

Why bring race and color into anime? It's just stupid. The Japanese don't see it like that, so why should we? Most don't usually bring it up unless to kinda mock or kinda make fun of it. Other than that....nothing.

crap it should be in anime shouldn't it is there any way to move it? any way Grate answer, I just wonderd yeah I dont think they go along the side oof race but country instead lol some americans in anime are seen bald and fat or yeah and dumb blond yankee haha some anime characters are pink, blue or not even human no mater the race all fans will watch it because Its good not because its there same race. yeah u i thought bee seamed black so naruto is 1 and the only other 1 i can think of is afro samurai

Nope, I guess the mods think it's fine here in this forum as only they can move it. There is rarely mentions to the race unless it's for plot or...just plot. ^^

Anime characters are a special race (lol) it's just not natural to see ppl with big eyes and tropical colored hair (blue, pink, green, red)

Harima isn't black. He's asian.

there are a few black leads. Bobobo is black and a lead character, Afro Samurai, some more i cant think of at the moment. Anime are done by 90% japanese so you will most likely see japanese leads. As for whites there are alot like Naruto is white blond hair blue eyes

Naruto is actually Asian or Japanese. Kishi though has said that Naruto is actually based of a Japanese world which should be a bit obvious, so I don't think he is white.

Nah Naruto is white his design was to attract more western Viewers. Thats why they made him white blond hair blue eyes.

Naurto isn't white. All the characters or most are Asian, Naruto was made for Japan not for the US. Kishimoto did not try to attract western viewers, but more to make his fans in Japan happy. Just because a character is white and has blond hair and blue eyes does not mean he is white. Japanese tend to favor how Americans look, so that's why most of the characters look foreign. and model most of the manga after them.

Michiko to Hatchin is a good anime with black characters. I haven't seen it but it's set in Brazil and most of the characters are Black/Afro-Brazilian. Michiko Malandro is the main character and she's Afro-Brailizan.

There's also Atsuko Jackson and other characters.

If you've watched Cowboy Bebop or Eureka 7 (and even Durarara!! had a black character--Simon) there's also some black side characters, though in "traditional" anime, black characters are usually uncommon, and are especially rare as main characters/protagonists. Most are either ambiguously brown or just tan (like Momo Adachi in Peach Girl or the Ganguro Trio that shows up occasionally). It's Japan after all. I don't expect a country with the majority of the very small percent of foreigners they have in their country (which are mainly limited to Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Filipino) to portray black or sometimes even white characters. Japan is a homogeneous country, which means the far, far majority of its people are Japanese. Personally, I think countries like the U.S., Canada, etc. should work harder to portray muti-racial and multi-ethnic groups, because it's a sad world if homogeneous places like Japan have more "people of color" in their cartoons and animations than those places.

not trying to sound rude or anything but this is like saying just because my skin is brown, my eyes are black, and my hair is black that im a african decent person. A white person traits are blond hair, blue eyes, and this is something naruto has. According to the world's logic anyone has blond hair blue eyes are considered white. I don't know why you don't want naruto to be white like your subconsciously racist but he is

I don't care for any "race", skin-color, religion or political / moral movement in anime.
So I'am fine with seeing big-breasted blonde cowgirls with boots wearing a shirt with US-flag color schema, christian / buddist / muslim / shinto monks, Nazi bitches with swastika killing harmless people or any other thing which some might consider disproportionate in RL.

You don't know much about Japan, or racism in Japan do you?
