I'm kind of surprised at the people that want to go through all 100 floors. I don't think the anime ever really focused on the floors themselves. They were more backdrops to the drama unfolding. It's not like the hunter exams or something, where the exam itself was interesting. You could actually critique the anime for missing an opportunity here to make the floors themselves compelling.

It was a great show though i liked the first half a lot more then the second half. I was really enjoying the show till that happened. In fact i was really shocked when the game ended at ep 14. Though don't get me wrong ALO was still ok i just didn't like how the plot went from "Survive in this medieval world. " to "My girlfriends trapped in fairy land!" Beside the plot change the world change was another thing i didn't like cause i loved the world of Aincrad but i didn't care much for Alfheim. I also hated the new character looks in ALO.... lol now that i think about it i guess i didn't like anything about the ALO arc. Though i know i would've liked ALO a lot more if it was its own season after the original plot in SAO had been finished legitimately.

Anyway here's hoping GGO gets animated!

I never really thought of it that way, but yeah I thought the first arc was better just because it was more dramatic. If you died there you were done in real life. If you died in ALO it sucks but its a game.

I'm probably the only person that really really liked Alfheim. I thought there was even more pressure there, because he was facing a fate worse than death. Also, there was a lot of really well animated fight scenes in Alfheim.

Um if you are speaking of Accel World it already has an anime created for it. It existed as an anime even before SAO did. You can check it out on Hulu if you want.

Could all of you say that this was somehow empathetic to those who play these types of MMO games in reality?

I mean, anyone could say "oh so it's a bunch of kids playing a guy" or "some boy trying to save a girl he met online",
but at least for those people, in that world, everything is real to them.

I like that they touched a lot upon that in the first arc of the series, how some people were beginning to accept their new "reality",
and how some were contemplating living the remainder of their lives (in the real world) there.

It raises some questions like, Would you rather live your life in a cruel, unhappy reality? Or a blissful dream?
You can be anyone you want to be in that VR world, or you can just be one in a million in the real world.

Thoughts like that come when I watched throughout this series.

Very great overall! I'm interested to know if anyone else had similar thoughts..

I would rather live in a hard reality, I would know that my decions really matter. But being in a game would be amazing.

100 floors would mean more episodes of this anime, the seriers felt a little bit rushed don't you agree? The drama could still happend, even if a part (or mayby the whole) episode was about clearing a floor. I haven't read the novels, but i have read some about them.

I feel like the animators could have been a bit more creative and added a bit more content of their own. (But this would probably ruin the series for many)

Also, this 2 year leap just felt retarded. It's like something i could do "I got a great start here on my novel, but i don't got enough ideas to cover up theese 2 years so i'm just gonna skip that". Becasue it was the same in the novels right? haha!

not the same as the novels at all, actually. the first novel started AFTER the 2 year time skip, but then included a flashback of Kirito remembering how the SAO event started, which turned into episode 1. episodes 2-7 were all side stories that the author wrote after the fact as a means to introduce new characters and tell more of the back story of the events in Aincrad.

Ohhh, then it actually makes sense! I guess doing this in anime could probably be confusing or something (They must have had some reason to it)

Btw, you wouldn't happend to know if you can buy a physical copy of the book in english? I don't really like reading other than manga on my computer, also it's nice to support people.

My favorite thing is to put translated light novels in PDF format into my nook. Finally getting some use out of that stupid thing.

You don't read regular books on it?
