Feeling after Finishing an ANIME
|
I though after watching a several series of different anime, I would get us to it but it seems like it never wears off. No matter how many times I finish a series, I always yea sense of emptiness and sadness that you get once you've finished an anime series. Personally I do feel a similar emotion after other real life TV shows but I feel as if it's emphasized after an anime series has finished because even though in real life, you see those actors in different programs, shows, interviews etc... You know that you will never see that same character again as you always wish for another season, an OVA, various specials or even a movie. Sure you might say that the voice actor/actress might play a role in a different anime, but it's never the same.
Does anybody else know what I'm going on about??? |

Yes and the only thing to fill that emptiness is more anime. It's a vicious cycle of addiction!

Blast reality. Burst it into shreds. Banishment...this world!

Yes, you're not the only one out there.. I totally get it, feels like you're losing a really good friend or something.. I always wondered if it was just me.. Just finished Hellsing Ultimate last night, and that was depressing.. Hopefully I get to see more of Alucard, though I wont hold my breath..

I definitely know what you mean. I usually get that feeling at the end of slice of life, high school based shows where it's emphasised by the fact that each character is going their own way and may not see eachother again.
I think it's a testament to how good a series is if it leaves you feeling sad or empty when it finishes. |

I get that down and out feeling only until I find something new to watch. But there are a few series that I still wish were on and would love to see more, like Kokoro Connect, and Spice and Wolf, or Gunslinger Girl to name a few. They were really good and I do miss them.

For me anime (and fiction in general) is like sex. Great while it lasts, but if it goes on too long it gets sort of stale and after it finishes I feel a sense of contentment and satisfaction. Unless a series ends in a lousy way *cough* Claymore *cough*. Then it's like being punched in the stomach just as it reaches the climax and like Sonic Sez "that's no good". What was the topic again?

If I had a type it'd be you, fortunately I don't have a type so please stop.

Angel Beats is just one of these shows that have managed to invoke these feelings, so good
I feel like this after finishing good anime and I wonder why good things must end Angel Beats! left me feeling particularly hollow On the other hand, I feel like this after managing to finish bad anime |

But after watching 50 animes, you get no feels...:[ all you need is that one gem of an anime that you can actually feel attached to, then it doesn't matter how many shows you've watched or are watching, it'll still feel like a part of you is gone once a great show is over |

Looking at this picture, I love Riker's face in that shot. But yea, I'm also saddened at the end of animes. I'm also filled with rage when animes end and there's so much more to happen. Like Skip Beat. GOD! Why was there never another season of that? |

I have seen many many many animes and every time they end I feel sadness. Like losing really close friends.
