The only thing that dulls the pain and fills the void is jumping head first into a new anime. Vicious cycle indeed.

Unless than certain anime is something I felt strongly about as time goes by, I would feel neutral about it to be honest. But I do get what you mean. Chuunibyou had me crying till the very end, and seeing it end pains me to the core.

Yes and the only thing to fill that emptiness is more anime. It's a vicious cycle of addiction!

It is like an emotional investment both mentally that will have you either thinking about it for days or disappoints you and pisses you off for days and it's also physical because you stay cooped up in your room or what ever place you watch anime and do not interact with reality or civilization. So your not physically active.

It's usually like "Mmm, yup I enjoyed that!"

But the end of Lucky Star was like "Y IS IT OVER?!! D:"

I feel the emptiness and loss after completing an anime, but also experience a surge of anticipation--after all, I've just opened up some space for whichever anime I want to watch next!
