I get this with a long running anime series or when I finish an rpg. The feeling of emptiness and a kinda lethargic feeling where I don't know what to do.

If I finish something like an anime or a game by midday I find myself for the rest of the day not knowing what to do with myself and feeling hollow. It's not like I don't have anything else to do but I want to continue playing or watching what just finished, I sometimes when I get it really bad start back from the beginning again for a few hours to get it out of my system.

Only on series where I wish it could be a different ending, yet I've been forced to make peace with it. I give myself a two day mourning period, and meditation on it. And then I accept the endings as beautiful.

I said this in another thread the other day, a different topic thread where we say what we did each day... and I said that I just finished watching Merlin... and it felt like my life came to an end.

Whenever I watch a series, I connect to the world and characters and it feels like my life has ended when the series end.

I hate finishing those anime that you just absolutely DONT want to end. I'm talking about those that you get emotionally attached to. Getting attached to the characters, story, everything about it...and then finishing up the last episode is really depressing but then you move on to another sick ass anime and everythings all good again

You should try Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, Texhnolyze, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Chrono Crusade then. Unless you already have, that is.

I definitely felt this way for a lot of shows I've seen over the years. To name a few, Id say Chuck/Spartacus/Lost

As for Anime, Id have to say lately it has to be Angel Beats! and Sword Art Online. These two actually made me look back and try to picture scene by scene what happened at the awesome parts. Like I rewatched the last episode of Angel Beats! twice and the last 5 minutes like 10 times. I kept going back to some episodes of SAO to watch some highlights from the show that I liked.

Man the feelings of a finished series is just ridiculously depressing. Like I feel like "shit, what do I do now...?". Its really sad and I feel like I've lost a friend :'(

If it's a really good series that I really enjoyed, then I feel kinda sad when it's over. But I usually move on to another series pretty fast

It's probably more satisfying finishing on a happy ending than ending an anime on a low note...
That's when I feel like 'YEAH what's next, bring it ON!'

but on the other hand, ending one on a sad aftertaste leaves me blank, having clue what to do next and simply wanting to cocoon myself untill another season or an OVA comes out.

I sometimes dont like finishing a really good series...to the point that I will put off the last 1-3 episodes for quite a while. It doesnt happen with every anime though. If I do really like the anime then after it ends I feel lost and I just kinda sit there hoping that I can find another anime that will be as awesome.

I felt that way after Angel Beats, Usagi Drop, Samurai 7, Samurai Champloo, the list is too long.
