First Impressions

Strangely, it seems that the first episode has aired, as a form of pre-air of sorts. Anyways, I did enjoy season 1 so decided to give Season 2 a shot as well.

So, Nagisa has a dream and things take a more serious turn. I like that as the series has a more serious tone anyways from the beginning. It seems that Chieri, Sonata & Yukirin got captured but ultimately are okay as well. I liked some of the visuals and of course the soundtrack. Yup, not a bad start so far and looking forward to more soon.

I am looking forward to Season 2. I really enjoyed the First Season, as well as the music and can't wait.

I did enjoy Season 1, so I'll be picking up the second. Hopefully this season will provide a back story as to why they're in the situation they're in, unless I missed it the first season. I would find the story more engaging and why these characters need to grow when no one else does.

One of the very few rays of sunshine in this very bleak looking season.

Glad to see episode 14 didn't waste time and finally did something with its villains.

I guess people like us won't be watching terrible bootleg feeds. Simultaneous release to when it's officially out, week by week, thank you, Crunchyroll!

I have enjoyed singing during space and mecha combat since Lynn Minmei in the original Macross series and the second season of AKB0048 is up to the challenge. The animation looks to be fairly CG heavy to my eye but that's OK. This looks like lots of fun! Silly space opera... rigged trials of teen and preteen idols broadcast across the galaxy, requesting a song by saying lyrics while making statements to the judge... Singing while you fly and shoot! Ridiculous but I love it!

For those of us who didn't see the first season, do you think we can watch this second season and still enjoy it? If this is a direct continuation of the first season, I'll probably have to pass on it. I don't like trying to watch sequels without having seen the originals first. But if this is basically its own story line, not really dependent on knowing the previous season's story, then maybe I'll give it a try. I'd appreciate advice from those familiar with the series. Thanks!

Episode 2

The second episode was okay imo. I liked some of those competitions, poses, and the music performed at the end there. Besides that though, it seemed more of an average episode to me.

I'm hoping for more action to come soon.

I would highly advise to watch Season 1 since the pilot episode was quite impressive imo and has a lot of more action (as it is so far). I also believe it is a direct continuation.

This is a must watch for any 48 group fan (AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, JKT48 and SHN48). Some of the situations are based on real life events that happened to members in AKB48. For example, the reluctance to become the 'center' for the song 'Nagisa no Cherry' in season 1.

The girls worked really hard, enjoy it.

Yes there is a lot in Season one. It basically picks up again. Its up to you. Ive watched animes just jumping in to it without seeing the original.I usually just try to dp some background first then go for it.
