So true but the already have a prejudice already. Since most girls i know hate Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The funniest thing ever one of my female friends had a superbowl party a few years back(Patriots won the superbowl that year..so I was the only Pats fan in there) So after the game they were all down so i said lets watch Aqua Teen and all the guys went yeeeeah and we started to watch and laugh like crazy. While the girls were like WTF is so funny about that show i don't get it. So the genders split off to different sides of the house. Yea... I have ALWAYS kicked the prejudice females to the curb. I can't deal with someone that is going to have a negative opinion on something they don't know shit about. I can't count how many girls I've kicked out of my apartment because they were talking shit about me watching anime. My friend you took it to a whole new level there LOL but i know how you feel usually women that hate anime and you end up dating turn you hobby into hell |

Anime is very sexist and aggressive towards women. That's why. Hopefully the future of Anime is changing and I have heard lots of rumors that it is but when you combine Echhi, Fanservice, Lolicon, Abuse, and just plain discomfort why would women watch that? Would you like it if 80-90% of Anime you watched showed men in sexual positions and showed them getting beat up, and gawked after to the point where it interferes with a good story?
But women do like Anime. My wife loves Fruits Baskets, My Little Monster (even though it shows abuse...I think that it's an artistic message about how men treat women in Anime and how it creates distances between them), Tower of Druaga, and His and Her Circumstance. She also likes Death Note, Inu Yasha, and and Studio Ghibli film. |

My little monster is one heck of a show and yeah there are some slapstick but I doubt that the message they are trying to convey. Also theres the opposite where the girl is the one beating the guy so you see when it comes to Anime theres a branch for every taste. I do agree we need to see more of everything not just the usual stuff. |

Anime really doesn't do much justice for women characters. They are pretty much tools for male fans to gawk at and to fantasize about. Women are always used for ecchi positions, upskirts, and pretty much oppai/cleavage exposure pretty much every 5 minutes in the series. So unless the girl you know in real life is somewhat interested into other girls, they may not find much interest in watching these kind of animes that put women at that level... and sadly, most animes nowadays is all about that fanservice.
Another issue I see with some anime is.. sometimes they make girls either excessively violent or absurdly submissive and servile. Their personalities lack any realism. |

Again I have to say unless you are just stuck into one genre of the anime tree then thats all you are going to see. If you don't believe me then check Cross game,Kimi ni todoke etc etc . Then comeback to me. About the submissive that could be a cultural thing since we are having guys in the states marrying women overseas because they feel western women are not submissive enough again like I been saying theres a choices to what you like so we can't box in anime into just the ecchi . If thats an issue have you notice that people in the states have no problem with violence but if God forbid a nipple show and then people would want to torch the tv station for say error. So like i been saying its a cultural thing and lets leave it at that. |

That happened to me before so with every friend I got at my old location I showed some anime to. Mostly anime that isn't really serious since I only showed them at lunch on my phone. The number one anime I shared a lot was Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan. Then more and more people started getting into anime and watching it themselves or going to me to recommend them a new anime. I actually felt important for once. Now that I moved more people than I thought was into anime. More than I was. There was even a "Anime Club" I was in awe when I went there I'm telling you. Mostly because the schools I went to the word "afterschool club" was meetings outside the school in the town library (Everything was in walking distance) the hotspot afterschool if you must at the tables people will be talking about different topics and stuff and some of them you could join in..but there was no such thing as afterschool clubs where I was until I moved

Pffft, where I live it's fairly common to run into girls (asian girls particularly). Probably because fob city is just a mile away from here.
That being said, that doesn't mean there aren't any non-asian girls who don't like anime either; I've seen/met people of different races who do in my area |
