Some of us continued to watch anime others drifted away, either way my group of friends consists of both male and female.

But, Considering Most Users Here Are Female: That shouldn't be a shocker. The problem here is 'what does everyone else think of it' and such. I seen hardcore anime fans, get into a convo with bunch of people who 'hate' anime, even though it is the ONLY thing they talk about. But, the anime fan would just agree/ disagree in the appropriate times and try and blend in with the group. The group would continue to talk about anime, and acting like they are 'hating on it' while they do. But, in reality; they will even get into small arguements about anime characters/ moments, and also anime is the only thing they converse about. But, back to the point in hand. People tend to 'blend in' with the crowd they are trying to 'hang' with in their offline lives. They will be around for various of purposes and such. But, the group the person hangs with tends to effect how said person acts/ shows to others. I though, I tend to be the person who doesn't blend in with a group. I am the kind of guy to shout; 'Anyone here know how to get past Dragon Slayer Ornstein & Executioner Smough?" in the middle of the cafeteria and think nothing of it. So, yeah...my two cents here

So, don't expect to find them every time you're curious just because the hobby boasts a large number of women in the community, or to be open about it. That said, why are you so interested in finding them? Or, are you just looking for a mate? If you just want to meet up and chew the fat, you should try your local anime clubs and conventions.

(Even though it's getting more and more out there now, because of YouTube) It's just because society thinks that it's weird as of yet. But it's getting more accepted while times goes on.

I only know of one who's into anime and manga. I may not watch sports and I don't watch as much anime as I once did, but I also watch wrestling.
