Spice and Wolf
Posted 12/25/12
I wanted to get into spice and wolf and i was wondering what the best way to experience it is!

so the question is, did you enjoy the Light Novels, The Manga or the Anime the most?

this is one of my favorite animes. I watched it over at funi not that long ago. The 2 seasons of the anime only cover 4 out of the first 5 light novels, of which there are 16. The anime was very good and I think you should check it out. I definitely want to read and keep up with the light novels as their released here in english. So far 7 volumes have been translated.

this is the only anime Ive watched where Ive been pretty inspired to keep up afterwards via the LN's

I've only watched the anime so far, but have thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, though I usually prefer subs, funi did an excellent job with the dub, and I would recommend that.

i would recommend the original light novels. they are up to vol 7 in the english translation so far (which is much farther than the anime's stop point; also it can be easily purchased online). And its a lot easier to keep up with the constant back and forth flirting between Holo-san and Lawrence in the novels, which is pretty much the primary appeal of the whole series to me (second being how the author writes stories centered around economics not boring of course). fantastic stuff

I started out with the dub at Funi and WOW was I blown away with their talent. When I did get ahold of the subbed I wasn't any more impressed then I had been with the dub. Both are really good. I started with the anime because I know that manga tends to have more in depth or different story arcs, so it's like having an appetizer and then going straight to dessert.

Spice and wolf is really good, the story just pull you in
When i watched the anime i could not stop wacthing it because you want to know
if everything is gonna turn out ok and whats going to happen to Lawrence and holo
Geat anime and read the light novels the anime stops at the 4th or 5th novel.
I have dvd/Bd but watch in subs, holo's voice is great so is Lawrence.

I loved the first season. I still haven't watched all of the second season yet, but what I've seen I've enjoyed. I've thought of getting the books, but the cover that Yen press put on the first one really put me off buying it. It looked like erotica. I heard they changed the cover or at least offered dust covers, but still, I think I'm not the only one that had a problem with that.

It's likely there will never be another season.

I fully intend to pick up the bluray collection though, and watch it again at some point in time. I'll give the dubbed version another try. I didn't like it at first, but many say the dubbing for this show is good.
