Things you believed as a child?

Until you took and arrow to your knee? & found out that you wasn't invulnerable? KiwiKoala wrote: Honestly, I've never had any of these situation in where i believed any BS. My parents were very straight up with me, one of those things was Santa. They told me when i was 6 "HEY WE BUY YOUR PRESENT!".I guess i didn't have a childhood but in reality,I never believed in any of the common or rare things that a child would believe. Good for you... Serious! Kogeku wrote: I believed I knew who I was. I believed in Santa Claus. I believed in fairy tales. I believed in trusting others. I learned the hard way that not everything is worth believing in. Hey, i'm trustworthy... Just sayin.. |

I used to believe that everything was monochromatic before a certain point in history. It was brought on by seeing black and white film and being a nosepicking little fuckwit.

When i was really young my dad would tell me this button in his camaro Z28 was a turbo button and whenever he pushed it the car would go really fast. So i believed him and me and my brother would be yelling turbo daddy turbo and he would push it and punch the gas. Good times
Also whenever there was a hurricane my brother would tell me it was the ocean trying to eat us because it was hungry i always believed him because of the huge cuts on the beach after it passed. |

I believed a lot of silly things...
One was whenever my Dad would leave to do anything he would say "I'm going to see a man about a horse". So we would get all excited and let him go peacefully without begging to go too or question where he was going. >_< |

As a child, I believed that there is Santa Claus not until i saw my dad dressing as one and said, Santa died but his spirit of teaching lives on. I believed that inner beauty is more beautiful than the outside appearance not until my crush said he like the girl for she looks like a model. I believed that you should always tell the truth for if not bad things come to you until i learned that it's the other way around. People do not like the truth for it often hurts them. I believed that my dad is superhuman for he can defend and beat 20 men all by himself until he met a car accident and couldn't walk for a year that changes everything. I became mature and left behind childish things when i was 11 and hide all my weaknesses to the world and just smiled. |

When I was little I thought school buses were made out of rubber so they could turn corners...and if they weren't they would snap in half
I also thought that the sun, moon and stars were all on earth. I just thought they were really really high up in the sky. I also thought that they were tiny. |

The absence or non-existence of God.
That human nature is basically good, and evil an anomaly. That the bank actually holds the physical bills and coins one deposits in a box locked in a big safe for you. Lost a bunch of crisp $2 bills from my "adopted" grandmother which she gave us kids each year for Christmas this way. (She was a sort of surrogate parent for my parents when they came as students to the U.S. from Taiwan way back when.) That cheese is soft, orange, and comes only in pre-wrapped slices. (The American palate has definitely diversified over the decades-- very much for the better!) That the stamps in my stamp collection will one day be really valuable. (Still have them, and add to them occasionally, but without any illusion that this is any sort of real investment. Anybody out there even collect stamps anymore?) Of course, Santa as well (until I saw some not-very-well-hidden gifts in a bag on a high shelf in the laundry room, which appeared a few days later under the tree as from Santa). |
