well Bang zoom!' and ocean are on life support because of what Funi did with shana (deciding to rush it at the cost of an inferior new dub cast) and how bang zoom!'s dubs are limited to AOA. What would you rather have, them two getting back in the dubbing game or them going extinct and letting Texas COMPLETELY homogenize all anime dubs as we know it.

Bang Zoom and Ocean Group are not on life support. Bang Zoom still does a lot of video game dubs since there is still a big market in dubbing video games and Ocean Group still dubs Western animation like My Little Pony and et cetera.

As for Kickstarter, if you really want Ocean to dub more anime, why not do some Kickstarters to dub popular anime that never got a dub? NIS America has a few series that would attract a wider audience if they were dubbed like Toradora and Anohana. I could see that getting more traction than re-dubbing the series that Funimation had its in-house division do.

You could also try that with some Sentai sub-only releases too: The second and third season of Hell Girl, the To Love-Ru franchise, Mashiroiro Symphony.

Well, NIS says that dubs are expensive, and I said the "Life support" part meant anime dubbing. Both are healthy every where else. It's just that they're getting less and less anime dubs and Texas is just going to completely homogenize anime dubs as we know it. For the Kickstarter part, you have to be 18 and have a credit card. The reason why I was contemplating Kickstarter concerning the cast of Shana is because Funi decided to just rush it and as a result, made a different cast that is mostly inferior compared to season 1's. Had it not been for the insanely long delay, Funi could have outsourced Shana to Ocean. Besides, Shana's relatively popular. Not to mention, Funi's contemplating sub-only releases to mitigate dubbing costs further. Currently, the only two companies that have potential to outsource to Ocean are Aniplex of America and Sentai. For Sentai's sub releases, the only one I want to see outsourced to ocean is Psychic Squad because of Hayate in it, which in turn I want to see Hayate outsourced to Ocean. For Hell Girl, S1's already dubbed (albeit via Funi) and because of the whole Funi-Section23 feud, Sentai may dub S2 & S3 via Seraphim digital or if Funi decides to drop S1 and sentai get it, maybe they would re-dub S1 and dub s2-s3 with an entirely different cast.

FLJerry2011 and I are on the same page

Ocean and Bang Zoom are still in the audio recording, ADR business .

When I was in British Columbia years ago I watched some cartoons and saw their company on the credits and the their voice actors in it.

Its funny they don't have a website. There is an article about the history of the Ocean group.

Bang Zoom is still in Burbank , I know where their studio is.Been there couple times I was happy that they are doing Persona 4 and they did Durarara's adr work. I love the voice talents they picked. They match the seiyuu very well. .

Since Funi decided to actually outsource Black Lagoon Roberta's Blood Trail to the original cast as opposing to dumping it in favor for an in-house cast that didn't live up to our expectations like what they did with Shana, it would be great if Ocean could go back into the dubbing game and dub some more anime again. Currently, the only company that could outsource to Ocean would be Aniplex of America but I would like to see Funi and Sentai something like that.

Ah it wouldnt be a bad idea

Well there is one more panel left for Funimation and the one I attended was what Funimation does in a nutshell as how the entire company works.

I didnt have the chance to ask the question because the rep talked for 45 minutes for the 60 minute panel. However I asked them about their streaming quality in which she responds that they are indeed addressing that issue and going to a better server and the time frame is about 6 months.
