So I just started my free trial throught my PS3 and I have simple, yet troubling questions about it.

First off let me say that I was so looking forward to being a part of this community and of Crunchy roll as a premium member but now I have serious doubts.

Anyways, on to the issues at hand.

My PS3 is getting locked on when trying to play certain titles, mainly Hell Girl season 2.

It wont even load. It would just freeze and often go to a black screen and totally seize up the machine. It has done it 3 times in a span of less than an hour. It simply wont play it 98% of the time.

The time I did get to play one episode of it, it kept lagging every 5 seconds or so rendering playback unwatchable.

For now I just stopped trying to mess around with the Crunchyrol application because to be quite honest I'm afraid it will totally break my playstation due to me having to force shut down the system.

For reference, I am using a FAT 40GB PS3.

I also have Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and they work to perfection so I know the problem is most definitely not on my end.

So I guess my questions are, are you guys aware of the issue? Are you doing something about it? And is there a timetable for a fix?

I'm asking because I'm day 1 into my 30 day free trial and I want to know something its being done if I'm to fully commit to Crunchyroll.

A response by a person in charge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this. :)

There's already a thread for this on page 1 of this forum, but I have your exact problem minus the crashing, and it's for Hellgirl as well, and many other shows if not all, the Xbox version dosen't have problems. It seems they have been ignoring this issue and telling people to forward ports on their router which shouldn't be necessary when other streaming services work. I'm three weeks into my free-trial, it's been doing this for a week now, I'm disappointed so far.

Yeah I looked into that thread but I felt I needed to make my own as to get attention to this particular issue.

The only way to make these people respond is to complaint which is utterly ridiculous.

I tried it again today and it still doing the same. At this point I already made up my mind. I'm not going to become a full member here.

Main reason why I decided to give this service a go was because the animes were actually in japanese and I like them better that way. Netflix has plenty of animes but dubbed. I will put up with it if I have to instead of going through all this problems without being assisted on it.

Bad experience from day one. Doesn't bow well for people running this service.

Agreed. Try out Hulu for PS3, it has far more anime then Netflix and there all subbed, it has ads, but their going through changes with that by asking you if you want to watch a ad for two minutes and not have any during playback. The downside is some shows update slower then crunchyroll with the exception of some like Naruto which is updated an hour after it airs. You should check it out unless you know already.

For mature titles like Hell Girl, you need to turn off the mature content filter under your video preferences on your Profile page on the Crunchyroll website. You also need to set a birth date as well so the filter knows how old you are.

After that, the mature titles should no longer show just a blank screen and freeze up your PS3.

This will also enable mature titles to be played back through the iOS apps. Both Sony and Apple require this kind of parental control to be in place which is why you must go through these steps.

Sorry, meant to quote you earlier so you would also receive a notification that this thread was updated.

Hopefully my suggestion also fixes your problem as well.
