The government is pretty much marred in bureaucracy.
People are often misinformed.
We are a republic not a democracy!!
Capitalism is an economic system not a form of government!!
Obesity
Loud and obnoxious people.
The education system sucks!!
Mainstream media are always biased.
Angry people.
We are easily brainwashed.
Butchering of the English language.

Whatever I'll list some positives later.

Fuck it! I'll just post some more negatives too.

Personally and me being american will get blow back for this but....every country in the world is loaded with retards and idiots that think they know all and are above everyone else. America is a big portion of that no doubt but when we pump money out of pocket to most of the world and sunk ourselves in the long run we have earned a little stuckupness. All major super powers pour out to other countries but nine times out of ten it is W.H.O. , Red Cross , and a load of US Military vics loaded with supplies that usually pour into disaster areas. All that aside though. There is a good chunk of the US populace that does need to be taken down a peg or two. Give it time. Karma will eventually bite them in the backside.

Also being a country that most of the time does for most without backing from others pretty much leaves us feeling like there is no one else. I won't turn this into a war debate because what ever deity you knows it will become a mess. Though outside of the major powers ruining......I mean running the US a majority of the people serving do actually believe that when they are serving over seas they are doing for the betterment of mankind and not the for the US. Not all believe that but most do.

Also going over the negatives that people pointed out.....guess what.....every country shares the majority of negatives. The US has Anger issuess, low priority education, and so on but other countries are no better. Angry people are everywhere. Language is butchered everywhere. Brainwashing is a global epidemic its called new media. Mostly everyone is pretty screwed in the long run.

In closing we are all pretty much screwed thanks to the gene pools produced in every country. Only thing we can all do is sit back and watch is fall of humanity in comfort. Personally I plan to do it with a beer in one hand and a smoke in the other. If I am gone to watch the world ruined my morons I am doing it drunk and laughing the whole way lol.

The question is, as the king of the hill do americans have time to give a damn what you think? Or are we too busy keeping the hill?

I smell envy and desperation in the air.....MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

everyone hates americans because they think that we actually choose and approve of our government officials, who lie to get elected and then do whatever they want with the lives of people around the world, poisoning, murdering, and oppressing. it's not like the american people said "YEAH OBAMA get some more of those drone strikes going on in Yemen on Christmas!" People have no clue what our government does and then wonders why everyone hates us.

One thing I've noticed from reading a lot of these posts is that quite a few Americans think their government has done a lot to help other countries. I think this is due to the media in America for example they staged scenes in Iraq of people celebrating America but in reality the American government only got involved out of self interest, I don't think that there are many people outside of America that feel they have been helped by them. Every county's media feed people lies and censor information but the American media are particularly renowned for it.

America, my country, worries me. We have gun control laws that don't work. Yet none that do. We don't enforce responsibility with those that bare arms, however we blame everyone when a problem comes up.

If I had my way EVERYONE would be required to partake in proper gun training to teach responsible handling and behavior with firearms as well as an understanding of how they work. Then everyone over 18 should be legally required to be packing.

The idea isn't American, but it's better then what we have.

Most Americans I've met don't study other nations, what works for them, why they have low crime rate, or learn from others. Most listen to a single channel on TV for the news. They get bias and more angry and hateful to the opposing political party then anyone else.

America is a nation that preaches tolerance and good will to men, but practices it NOT.

Lastly is Patriotism, we have too much "We're the US." the Pomp, the brevado and chest beating. But we don't have 'true' patriotism, we don't care about our fellow countrymen we care about our appearance, not about who's eating or starving in our lands.

If America was truly the best we would be Patriotic and care deeply for our fellow countrymen and in turn have a door of compassion to care for the rest of the world.

If America was truly the best we would not be divided by every difference be it religion, political party or race, we'd be American.

If America was truly great when asked for nationality on a card we'd sign "American", not 'Black, white, hispanic, etc.'

America was never perfect, no nation is, but we've fallen away from the dream of our founding, we've ridden our momentum yet allowed ourselves to become an ugly greed run nation of vices and moral poverty. It shows and no one in the world is laughing.

What part of Texas do you live in ?!?

Anyways, does anyone find it ironic that some people in other countries are ignorantly stereotyping Americans as ignorant? That's the point of the thread, but it's still hilarious.

A few miles away from Houston in the country side full of trigger happy Rednecks. I assume you live in the cities otherwise you would know everything I said was true.

Edit: Maybe not so much of the ignorance part that's mostly the Rednecks too. But you can't tell me that you never have forgotten Canada existed I mean come on I know I have they never do ANYTHING intresting.

And that's why we love you enough to shut down our skies and billet all your travellers during 9/11. That's why one of our diplomats allied himself with the CIA and sheltered six of your citizens during the Iran Hostage Crisis. That's why Canadian military officers work side by side with their american colleagues at NORAD bases in both countries.

We're never interesting. We're just there for you. Thanks for noticing.

Hmm, well we don't stereotype much in England
Some misconceptions that we have are that all your high schools have cliques, you all like burgers and you make some pretty epic movies - do I need to mention braveheart and gladiator?
But then again most Americans think that all English people speak like the queen and lead posh life styles - this is so NOT true. But we do have awesome accents - and Scotland is amaZing.

All your misconceptions about America are pretty on the spot actually.

But your true misconception is your view on how most Americans view brits.
We know you have all kinds of accents, depending on your locale. We also know there is a large lower class and we think most brits lead poor, drunken, fighting over "football" life styles.
Kidding. We view England as our little grandma. Basically the same as us, just smaller and full of piss and vinegar.
