I've found they often go hand in hand.

I don't think about anything about anyone.

I judge people on their actions, not their skin colour or race.

No, concur whole heartedly, since your Canadian. We were just really ticked with you when your dollar value was better than ours.

You're Ticked? We're an Exporting Nation. and you're are biggest trading partner. It's hard to export when your stuff is not 'on sale' A weak CDN Dollar was GOOD for our economy.

I submitted the comment in the past tense. Worked w/company years ago that imported Canadian materials and dollar values had them going nuts.

heh don't get me wrong, just touched a nerve I was raised in a pulp and paper town and my dad was an accountant he made sure I understood that a weak canadian dollar was GOOD for putting a roof over our heads.

When our dollar got stronger than yours I found the tunnel vision cross boarder shopping attitudes of those around me irritating. Ignorance as I said earlier is not solely an American trait.

Unfortunately a world wide condition.

Really? "America's media is screwed up but I'm not even going to think that my country's might be in the slightest," is about half the comments in this forum. We go to war and we get in trouble. We try to stay out of a war and we get yelled at and when our country is directly threatened were just supposed to be fine with it? Ok, enough ranting. There is truth in pretty much all stereotypes or else they would of died out I imagine.... People who meet a few buttheads from a country and decide that they all suck are people I'd rather shoot myself (cuz I can) than be around.

As I said earlier I don't want to make light of the sacrifice and casualties the Americans suffered pulling their weight and then some during World War II

However, I find the attitude that "We saved your ass in WWII so you OWE us" to be extremely offensive. For the reasons given in that post. That attitude was not merely expressed in 'the media' it was repeatedly expressed on this forum.

I actually rather LIKE the US. I just vehemently disagree with the Idea that the rest of the world 'owes' the US for their Participation in WWII. It is an Ignorant and Arrogant comment. (wait what? Americans being Ignorant and Arrogant?) I don't think all Americans are so. but comments in the vein of "You owe us for winning WWII" do you little credit.

Canada is different, not necessarily better. I like it but I live here was born here can trace my lineage through several generations here. My patriotism doesn't blind me to our faults (Dirty laundry not relevant to this thread) Suffice to say we have our share of 'issues' too.

Don't let our struggle with a national identity trick you into looking down your nose at our best friend and biggest neighbour. We're no saints.

I'm stating what Canadians generally think. Not what I think.

Sad to say, but many of the stereotypes are true at a significant degree. I have lived in America since the late 80's and I have witnessed a lot of bad things, but also a lot of good things.
