Excuse me, but what is a "comfort lady"?

Some folks refer to these professionals as hookers, courtesans, ladies of the night. I'm sure there are many other less cultured descriptions familiar to all but these descriptors should suffice.

When I was training to become an 18-wheeler owner-operator decades ago via a prominent household goods moving company many of us would eat a prepared lunch provided by 1 of the corner vendors who catered to factories, light industry, repair facilities where food emporiums were not very accessible unless one liked hiking 2 miles through less than safe neighborhoods or could afford cab fare everyday.

There was a young lady nicknamed Queenie who happened to live near this terminal. She made it a habit to cater to the needs of lonely personalities be they married, single, swingers, horny, whatever. Her way of introducing herself in the event she didn't recognize you or vice versa at these impromptu gatherings was to sneak up behind a chosen individual who usually had both hands occupied holding coffee and a sandwich and grab his genitals unannounced. The reaction, 9 times out of 10, was immediate. Food got redistributed to the ant population skittering about on the pavement. If they played their cards right those ants also got an impromptu hot shower.

I have to admit a guilty pleasure watching the occasional bore get pranked this way. A lot of these guys came from backgrounds where they were in positions of authority but not entrenched enough to hold that job when downsizing occurred. This ribald form of vicarious entertainment alleviated the monotony of a structured setting and I have to admit this technique of meeting perfect strangers just seemed so off the wall back then that I thought I'd relate it to this forum topic. I've never tried it on anyone myself.

Ignore them.
If you don't like them, why would you be around them in the first place, y'know?

Just because you use the word avant garde a lot, doesn't mean you are knowledgeable in the topic at hand.

Oddly enough, I'm pretty much fascinated with those people who are really intellectual. They have so many interesting things to say. Especially those people who loves and knows many things concerning the topic history. But I'm not that into those intellectuals who only talk about math, Physic, economics, and chemistry. I'm more interested in history, literature, art, and other things.

Did I go off topic again? Hope not. Asdfghjkl;

Je pète dans ta direction générale!

Never met any intellectual I've found really boring except for teachers. I like picking peoples brains for information.

Well i've never met this combination. Usually people who think they are better than me are stupid and bad at everything and just uses their position to stand strong despite their inferiority. When i write like that, maybe i seem like the type who thinks that i'm better than everyone else? XD I dunno, but i'd be okay with that since i'm nowhere near intellectual or boring.
Anyway what i do with people who think they're better than me is: Ignore them and go into my shadow mood whereas i think for myself that their life is meaningless because they opposed me, or because they are useless for me. In other words i Deny their Existence. I bestow upon them nothingness if i meet them again. And in further effect if they are the only ones around me i get depressed. Happened for a while when i only had adults to hang around with because all kids were boring and stupid and thought they are better than me. ... Yes ... Everyone were boring no matter what. :p XD But we anime people are awesome. We need our own town, no city!
Ftr i love stupid and funny people aka Airheads. Cause they can be so widly creative too, if they have willpower to complement it.

I feel like i forgot something but i'll probably remember it if i get back to this thread.. Hmm.

Just wait..you will. Or not. There are intellectuals, who don't need to flaunt how esoteric they are and then there are the other kind. I am sure they don't view themselves as boorish, but then again, maybe they are just knowingly being a pain in the ass. Maybe they are lonely. Perhaps I should be more tolerant and hold in the farts.

Book smarts isn't everything.

Well as a "boring intellectual" let me attempt to clear the air a bit.

Frist off we love to learn and we love to teach! And we love to have deep conversations about a varieties of topics so we can increase our and other peoples understanding of them. Now when we meet someone and they don't want to have said deep conversations, we usually decide there is little point in wasting our time with them because they have nothing to offer us and they don't want anything from us (a.k.a. our knowledge). While most people think the only thing we are interested in is book smarts that is not true, we generally like learning about a bunch of stuff so if there is something you are really knowledgeable on or find interesting talk about that with us.

Example: If you are really into a sport talk to us about that but don't just do the usually boring small talk about who won the game last night, educate us on the sport. Teach us the history, rules, explain the skills need, etc..

Second if we are introverts we suck at social situations. We never learned social costumes because we saw no need for them, so as a result we can come off as rude to others. But there is usually nothing personal about it, and we don't even realize we are coming off as rude (trust me if it is intended you will notice a difference ). Also we are puzzles about why people get upset when we correct them on something. If I was wrong about something I would want and expect someone to correct me on it. There is no need to bring emotions into it, if I am wrong it is probably because I just didn't have the right information or the way I processed the information was faulty. When someone corrects me and explains why I'm grateful because I can add that information to my knowledge base, and come up with the right answerer the next time.

Example: My mom often says something that is wrong, when I correct her she takes it as a personal attack. This isn't true at all I have no ill will against her and I don't think she is stupid, she is just wrong. I'm telling her she is wrong so she can improve her thinking and expand her knowledge, in short I'm truing to be helpful to her.

I created this forum topic back in 12/27/12, therefore it is now outdated. Since that time I have become a boring intellectual myself
But thank you for sharing.

I'm probably what most people would consider a 'boring intellectual' but I definitely don't think I'm better than others... (well.. MOST others )

however... I do come across that way sometimes... I usually change the subjects if my friends start looking like <-- that

Sometimes they just tell me to shut up though. Especially when I get excited about neurotransmitters or pharmacology....
