*Runs towards the portal narrowly dodging Tama's projectiles *

(OI..WHAT KIND OF FAREWELL IS THIS ? We will be saying hi to people in the after life instead of saying bye to the people here ! )

*an arm by his nose, squinting through the thickness of smoke*

YOSH! IKOU ZE!!

*rushes at par with Gin.... towards the huge expanse of light*

*Running frantically. She notices a strange commotion.*

"A..are?"

*Stops suddenly and adjusts her glasses.*

"What is this? Some kind of party? And they started without me?"

*She quickly heads in the direction.*

"A party? For what? I'm going to be late, I have to get there fast!"

*Runs faster and reaches the group. As she arrives, she scans the group and sees Hijikata and Gintoki about to walk through some type of light.*

"N..nani? That's G..Gin-san? What's going on?"

*Looks around at the farewells coming from everyone and hears of them not being in the right world. She adjusts her glasses*

"Eto...they're saying goodbye? ....that means...Gin-san's leaving!? What kind of world would this be!? That wouldn't be possible, Gin-san is my world! I don't care what world you're from..or universe even! You're still Gin-san and I'll always stal..pursu...love you!"


*Pushes through the crowd and leaps, arms wide open, at Gintoki.*

"Matteeee!! Giiin-saaaan!!!!"

*Her face blushing with excitement.*

"Giiin-saaaan!!!"

Almost on instinct Gintoki raises his hand and clenches his fist. He back hands Sarutobi's charging face.

He looks over shoulder "Looks like I cant get rid of you no matter what you dam stalker. I will leave you to the other me. "

Gintoki puts his hands into his pockets and steps into the light.

MUSIC: Through the Light



And as Gin and Hijikata enters the main path, the latter paused his steps and takes one last look over his shoulder.

Sa-chan sprawled on the floor after a knock-out.... Kondou and Kyubei arguing over Otae.... Sougo and Kagura, ready to claw at each other's throats.... Shinpachi still yelling at the top of his lungs trying to stop Tama and her rampant blastings.... and the rest covered in smoke.

*sighs.. a smile*... (Saaame ol bunch.)

He gazes forward, and calmly walks alongside Gin.... on a road of uncertainty.

*hand tucked in yukata*.....(This, is our salvation home.... a huge risk we're takin.... *brows furrowed*...We've lain our trust onto a single amanto we've only met once. What if.... *a piercing gaze towards something ahead*... ma-te... is that---?)


Hijikata would've assumed it as mirage, but he does see......




His eyes temporarily bulges in disbelief, wondering if time has set itself into a paradox.... then realizes with a grin.

(Hrh! Seems we're not the ONLY ones goin home.)

The pair ahead sensed the other. They cease argument and calmly head towards Gin and Hijikata's direction. Their intent, as clearly predicted.


The one pair heads closer..........










(Music stops and....)

Gintoki simply closes his eyes as Hijikata walks beside him. The pair heads towards their counterparts.

The pairs pass each other and stop on their tracks.

(music continues)

Gintoki looks over his shoulder and takes one gaze at his counter part .

"Bring peace to Edo Vice Captain. "

His counter part looks right back at him .

"Protect that town Yoruzuya "

Hijikata looks at his counter part after a puff of his cig .

"Whip those kids into shape Kuroyasha"

His counterpart looks right back at him after flicking his zig onto the ground

Bring honour to your Taichou and brothers in arms Baragaki"

All four people smirk and shrug their shoulders.

(All) : "You don't have to remind me , annoying bastard"

They simply head back towards their respective worlds without another word to their counterparts.

After all, who else can you trust than the idiot who reminds you of yourself ?

Thus the endless possibilities weave in and out. They diverge and converge.

Let us return to the tale that we converged from.

Here we go again

"The Land of the Samurai", its been awhile since our country has been called that. Around twenty years ago beings from outer space known to us as the Amanto have arrived to Edo. A war broke out between the Samurai and these Amanto. The samurai lost and the use of swords were banned.

However there are two people who still hold on to their samurai spirit by protecting that which they hold dear :

Sakata Gintoki of the Yoruzuya .




Hijikata Toshirou of the Shinsengumi

The Roleplayers - When I wrote this concept of mine, I really was worried on how the Kurotama versions of each character would be potrayed. All of you went beyong my expectations and brought things to the table that I did not think of. Give yourselves all a pat on the back for delivering awesome stuff. In other words each and one of you gave me all sorts of FEELS from happiness to sadness. I am honored to role play with all of you .

Sorachi and Sunrise- I know you guys probably aren't gonna read this (I CAN HOPE RIGHT ? ) , I can't thank them enough for giving us Gintama and its anime. Seriously, no other anime/manga like it.

POST CREDIT SCENES

Homecoming

The Amanto tinkers away. Sparks from a strange machine can be seen flying as sweat drips down the being's face. The being's heart rate notably skyrocketed as he takes a break from whatever he is doing to glance back over his shoulders.

A blood stained katana can be seen shining amongst the room only lit by a swinging dim ceiling lamp. Smoke can be seen trailing in the air.

"Are you done Frisbee ?" can be casually heard from behind the Amanto

"N-no....please give me a couple of more minutes.......I promise this machine will take you back . "


The Amanto continues to nervously work on the cursed machine that brought this man to this world. The Amanto could not have imagined that a single man ..a mere terrorist can bring this much turmoil in such a short period of time.

There was no way that the Amanto can stay calm. Not only was his life at stake, but the life of every member of his organization can also fall. All the man behind him had to do was to find this world's version of the organization members and destroy them to pieces. Surely, this world's causality would be permanently damaged.

The Amanto knew this man was not kidding either. After all JP's decapitated head can be seen on the floor.

The camera pans behind the Amanto to see a familar face leaning on a wall while smoking another puff from his kiseru.

It was the eye patched man's homecoming party.


(music stops)

The tale behind the tale

It shattered.

Its bit and pieces are scattered over the place decorating the temple’s wooden floor.

An old man wearing a robe with question marks and book symbols plastered on the piece of clothing can be seen standing up from his seat. He closes a book entitled “Kurotama” and starts walking.

He walks up and picks up the bits and pieces in annoyance. The man gives one long sigh and looks towards where the pieces flew from. The man looks to the now open rooftop of the temple with greater annoyance.

Two giant eyes can literally be seen gazing over the temple’s interiors.

The old man looks at the bits and pieces again, and gives yet another sigh.

“It’s troublesome when you readers find this place. The wall exists for a reason you know? “


“ I simply shouldn’t be disturbed when I narrate these stories. It is simply assumed that in stories like these, the narrator exist in a place beyond the characters or the readers. ..”

*The giant eyes simply blink *

“Well, I suppose now that since you managed to find yourself here, I’ll have to entertain you don’t I?”

*The giant eyes blink again *


“I’d imagine you don’t want some tea then. Very well, let’s see what kind of tale I can give you ….”

The man looks around and goes back to the book entitled “Kurotama”.

“Aaaah , this might just be it. How about I tell you how this one came about ? Perhaps you’d be interested in knowing the tales behind Kurotama’s Gintoki and Toshiro ? “

*The giant eyes blink rapidly indicating excitement*

“Very well then "

The old man opens the book and takes a quick glance over the contents. He then opens his mouth :

“A long time ago in this world, the Amanto did indeed come to Earth. Sounds familiar yes ? For some reason , in this world the Dog Amanto actually came to Earth as peaceful delegates. They offered free trade and they desired to have peaceful relations with the people of Edo. Perhaps the Tendoshu arrived earlier and convinced the Dog Amanto to settle down for a greater purpose. “
“ It seems that as a result, the samurai at the time were more amiable to their presence. Thus a war did not brew immediately and more lives were still flourishing , unlike the world of Gintama . “

“Two of those lives were Sakata Gintoki’s parents. Perhaps it was fate or perhaps something in this world’s make up incurred what happened next. Sakata Gintoki’s family decided to move to the land of Bushuu. At this time , Sakata Gintoki was still a mere lad….a lad not surrounded by corpses. “


“Hijikata Toshiro also lived in Buushu at the time, but his life was not as easy going as Sakata Gintoki’s . Like in Gintama, his brother was blinded by either bandits or those who did not like the nature of Toshiro’s birth.In blind rage, Toshiro slayed his attackers.

"His relatives feared him and he was unwanted."

Toshiro wanted to support his brother in some shape or form. Fortunately areas farther away from Buuhuu were not ravaged by war or the like since the Amanto were attempting to reach peace with the people of earth. It was safe for people to travel to those areas as a result. Toshiro decided to traverse away from Bushuu in order to find a well suited job to support his brother. Alas, he was only a mere boy at the time. There was no way he could have trekked the entire journey and he collapsed due to starvation .”

“Fortunately his dying body was found by one Yoshida Shouyou”.

“For the past 5 years, the Amanto attempted to convince the Bakufu to open up their land for foreign trade as well as trying to instill new ideologies. It seemed that the 12th Shogun at the time had a bit of a backbone compared to 12th Shogun of Gintama. This Shogun openly refused the idea of opening up the land to the Amanto in fear that the samurai and the people will rebel against the Bakufu for such an action. The Shogun perhaps knew the tenacity of his people and he feared that tenacity more than the Amanto’s superior technology. ……….The Amanto decided to break off delegations and …a war was brewed. “

“The news of war even reached all the way to Bushuu. Sakata Gintoki’s family hasn’t always been well treated by their neighbours due to their strange silver hair and red eyes. This was a rural community after all, and smaller communities tend to spread rumours faster. In fact a fair share of people feared that the war would come to Bushuu. Some of those people in fact thought that Gintoki’s hair was a bad omen that would bring the war to their community. Name calling, physical violence, and more were what filled Gintoki’s days during that time. Eventually , perhaps due to panic and anxiety from the news of war brewing, a small group of village thugs raided Gintoki’s house. His parents were slain, and ….Gintoki simply ended the lives of his attackers . “

“Familiar isn’t it ? “

“Gintoki took out his rage by spending the rest of the days swinging his sword throughout Bushuu . He took out any thugs who dared to get in his way. …Gintoki would have liked to traversed to areas outside of Bushuu if it was safe. However, as war was brewing , no one dared to attempt such a thing. “

“During this time, Toshiro was taken in by Yoshida Shoyou. There he met Takasugi Shinsuke and Katsura Kotaro. ….Toshiro explained that he needed money to send back to his brother back in Bushuu. Shoyou suggested that perhaps at his school, the young boy can learn anything his heart desires to. Things that can help him find a job even. Thus Toshiro become Shoyou Sensei’s student. “

“After 10 years the war has escalated. During the past 10 years, the 12th Shogun collapsed due to stress of being a leader of a country in war. ….The 13th Shogun, Tokugawa SadaSada, took over. The rest is history as they say.”


“ SadaSada decided to listen to the Tendoshu by ordering his people to stop fighting against the Amanto. He would open the land up. …The people still had war in them, and they could not forgive the Amanto no matter what it seemed. ….The people rebelled. “

“Truly the rest was history “

“Yoshida Shoyou was captured by the Naraku. Toshiro was forced to watch his beloved Sensei taken away from him. That eternal promise was made and Toshiro vowed to hold up to that promise.”


“Shoyou’s students went to war to save their Sensei . Hijikata earned the name Kuroyasha during that time. However, Shoyou was slain and the war was lost. “

“Meanwhile Isao Kondo found Gintoki after hearing rumours of the “Silver Haired Thorny “ . Gintoki trained at Kondo’s dojo and he even met Okita Mitsuba. ..’’

‘’However, Gintoki decided to leave her behind when he and the other dojo members decided to head out to Kyoto. Gintoki loved the girl dearly, and he wanted to bring her along…..but …he feared that his naturally silver hair…..would bring demise to the girl".

“The rest should be obvious now"

“Toshiro drifted and found himself in Otose’s care. He then became Yoruzuya’s leader. He found himself with new things to protect."

“Kondo’s group was found by Matsudaira Katakuriko and the Shinsengumi was formed. Gintoki became the Vice Captain of the Shinsengumi. He swore to protect Edo with his comrades in arms."

The old man closes the book . He looks up to the open rooftop and smiles.

“So interesting stuff isn’t it dear reader?“

*The Giant Eyes blink twice in agreement*

“Many possibilities and many paths to take lies amongst the stream of fate. It is my job to explore those possibilities"

*The Giant Eyes stare blankly at the old man *

“There isn’t going to be any more for you. You’ve had your fill so I think it’s time for you to take your leave"

The old man goes to the broken bits and pieces of the so called wall and his hands start to glow in a white aura.

“Till next story dear reader"

The old man clasps his hands together and the rooftop of the temple suddenly started to get covered by a glass wall.

“I wonder what tale shall be woven next time …….”
The old man founds a book that suits his interest and picks it up in curiosity.

“Hoh ? Well this seems to be quite the tale that is being woven “

The glass covers almost the temple’s entire roof.

*The Giant eyes blink rapidly in confusion*

The old man looks at the cover of this book with intrigue.

“You’ll have to wait for this one reader “.

The book was entitled “Shiseigumi Arc”

The glass wall covered the ceiling completely and the giant eyes could no longer peer into the narrator’s domain.

The fourth wall was repaired.
