Since the light novels are ending. I expect a new season next year, summer or fall. That's just my guess though. Just going by what usually happens.

You might be able to get around this with a forwarding service? Doesn't sound like you're using one if Amazon's not letting you purchase stuff because of where you live. Apologies if I'm assuming something I shouldn't.

The upswing is that you can get store specials this way. The downswing is that some sites will also specifically look for forwarding services, and refuse orders addressed to them (although I suppose that's still a little better than no overseas shipping). I hear Melon Books is this way, but I haven't had a problem with Amazon.co.jp.

I won't begrudge people who enjoy this anime, and even though it's a genre that I generally tend to enjoy, it turned into kind of a chore for me to sit through. So I'm not going to tune in if they make a second season.

The anime is definitely lacking something.. maybe it needs some of the School Days treatment? Who knows..

Maybe Sorata can mean up and take Makoto's throne of TRUE HAREM KING.

Looking forward to season 2!

I am not using a forwarding service. I am sure using a Japanese PO box would work if they would ship there. But CDJapan will ship me the games without using a forwarding service so this is good.

Yes, there are store specials for some series but you have to weigh the value of the special against the discount. Amazon usually has the best discount on Blurays so unless the special is something really good like an extra disc I usually go with that. 27% off is worth more than a mouse pad and I don't even use mice, haven't for years LOL

And I goofed above: that listing is not for Sakurasou 10, it is for something else. My search failed, I didn't noticed that was a different book, my eyes were blinded by hoping that was the right book. Really odd amazon doesn't even have it listed yet. If they don't list it very soon I will need to order from elsewhere. WTH is up with them lately not listing stuff??? It will be a very popular book so I think something must be wrong with their system, I am sure they would want to list it. Even searching by ISBN fails...

This is all wishful thinking at this point; nothing has been announced. We can hope though.

I've never watched an anime that has made me feel so many emotions at once, this is truly an amazing show. Please sign this petition I found asking for a second season!

Book 10 ordered! amazon's search is just broken, doesn't find it by name but if I look at the highest ranking light novels, it's right up there!

Nice , do you get it on the release date or a few weeks after that? Btw how many pages does a typical Sakurasou novel have?

Says it will ship on the 11th so I am going with amazon!

The first book had 327 pages and they have been growing ever since. 9 was over 400 pages too.

This might be too technical of a question, but I've always kind of wondered: in terms of page space, does Japanese allow for more information per page than English, or less? I imagine it also depends if it's arranged vertically or horizontally.

I always kind of assumed "light novel" meant something similar to novella, but 400 pages sounds pretty long.

Oh no, definitely not a novella! Length wise these are full novels.

Japanese novels are always vertical. Rarely they are separated into a top half and a bottom half, e.g. Monogatari and Miniskirt Space Pirates but usually they are right to left, top to bottom. This means the book starts from the right side, my wife always thinks I'm almost done when I'm just starting a book!

Yes, Japanese is more dense than English but not as dense as Chinese. A good reading speed of a light novel is 30 pages per hour while I think English is more commonly about double that.

Light novel doesn't mean youth fiction, there is another term for that but light novels tend to have a few illustrations and are in general, as the name implies, lighter than real novels like Shinsekai Yori which is serious stuff, no illustrations, very little helper furigana while by comparison Sakurasou is practially like shounen/shoujo manga with all the helper furigana it has.

Youth fiction is something like Red Data Girl which doesn't have pictures like light novels but is meant for a younger audience in a way like Harry Potter and Twilight.

The illustrations are usually NOT with word captions and there are generally less than a dozen illustrations in a light novel though some have a few more. Some like SNAFU/Oregairu also have inserted phone text message conversations and stuff like that.
