The first time I cried to anime was bambi. But in all seriousness, the first time I cried as an adult man was probably watching 8man after: perfect collection. The scene where he flashes to a similar instance in his life where a loved one was taken hostage. He screams, "NOT AGAIN!" in that cheesy cliche fashion we all love so much about anime. And a dramatic score set in and he began to tear them apart. So the tears quickly turned into happy giggling and rooting for the main hero.
FMA Air TV Elfen Lied Steins;gate Fruits Basket Now and Then, Here and There - This one made me emotional but not in ways I had hoped. It is a hard anime to watch. I actually have never watched it again because of the plot and story. But I did cry. Naruto has made me cry on several occasions. And when I mean several, I mean every time "sorrow and sadness" hits and somebody is doing some self reflecting and/or wanting to save someone else. (what?! I'm an emotional man!) D. Gray-man - a few parts. Now granted I'm counting the moments even when I just tear up a little but I have bawled like a baby to an anime before. Air TV was one of them. I think the complexity of the stories and emotion is was makes anime stand-out so much for some people. Uh, also Trigun XXXholics Deathnote *cough* I'm just gonna stop. You get the point! *edit* I seriously think the song sadness and sorrow might be psychologically linked to the action of crying whenever I hear it now. You could probably get me to cry by just playing that song out of the blue; even in the happiest of moods. Lol |

The more the merrier! Also, I understand tears are just that. Tears. But, man or lady tears are just a way of conveying our own individual emotions and then combining them together on this here forum. Plus, by listing all the anime titles on here, it gives others the chance to see shows they may never have heard. Now, I apologize if there is another forum like this one, but I figure since I started it, I would try and respond as much as possible. Anyway, have fun all! List away those shows that tugged at your heart strings or perhaps brought about feelings you never knew you had! Love and peace!

the first anime i ever cried for is probably Sailor Moon, i must have been 6 or 7 and it was the first show where people died
.more recently though - Gundum Seed / Destiny - Naruto - Naruto Shippuden - Bleach - Full Metal Alchemist - One Piece - Sword Art Online - Inuyasha most of these are from the death of characters with some emotional music added on for effect, while others show sorrow in hopeless situations or overwhelming acts of courage and/or love. these make me FEEL |

Angel Beats, ALMOST made me cry.
I was on the urge to, my eyes were getting watery and my head got that weird feeling of about to cry. The only thing that stopped me was the scene was over and I went back to 100% manly mode again. After that I can't remember the last time I cried watching anime or anything in general. I'm quite the dry tears kinda guy so when Angel Beats ALMOST made me cry, that's quite the achievement in its own. |
