Because i live in the UK i have got o say this.

Yes we got a Queen who is still alive, Dental Care is actually not bad but:
they Kicked me out of 2 Dentists for not showing up for appointments.
We certainly don't just have tea.
Anti-Gun law are here but there are still crimes with Knife crimes
More family problems here
Government is bad for not getting jobs for young people
All of these of what i said are all true but sometimes

We have a corrupt government like any other country, Uni tuition fees has risen thanks to the corpulent George Osbourne, well basically everything is expensive to be frank. We certainly do not all drink tea. That's like us saying all americans are obese (lol)

It's a shame that's the impression you've been given of us, I definitely wouldn't be judgmental to a place before I've been there or a person before I've met them. I can't say much about America as I've only been there once and only went to Florida which was when I was 8 (so over 7 years ago).

I feel the term 'chavs' is a bit overused, many people make the assumption of someone being a chav before even getting to know them. I think that defining 'chav' is very personal thing, I tend to use it to describe people I don't want to associate with. This doesn't mean that because I don't like someone they are a 'chav' though, I guess it's more to do with when I'm around someone I don't feel entirely comfortable being around as they act really aggressive around you a lot of the time to show off to friends who are just as bad as them. It's not necessarily a feeling of fear, but more the fact I'd rather be around polite, loyal friends than people who are just going to verbally assault me to look cool.

If you did ever come over here, you'd meet a range of people as with all countries. Some will be polite to you and maybe become close friends, some people you may want to avoid because of how they act in public and others will just be another person passing by getting on with their lives. This is just how all countries work, a variety of people will treat you in a variety of ways. I'd say as with anybody try to make a good first impression, if you find very quickly there are some people you don't want to associate with then just try to find other people who you'd rather get to know and form a good relationship with them rather than wasting time in life talking to an idiot who is just going to waste your time annoying you (not saying you haven't done this, odds are you have). Anyway, just saying as another Brit reading this post that you should all know we are not all horrible people and that you shouldn't avoid our country because of some rumors or something one person tells you. As for some of the stereotypes I've read here, some are just based on facts from the past, some are complete lies (I mean I drink quite a lot of tea (so there is a true one personally, but this doesn't account for all of us), but I brush my teeth day and night so my teeth are actually fine and not tea stained as I've heard many say) and some I can completely agree with as true!

Anyway, I think I covered most stuff. I hope you meet other Brits after this that change your opinion so far about us and yeah, that's about all I have to say apart from sorry about the length of this message! =D

Most people I know stereotype the U.K. with gay guys with skinny jeans, lots of weed, and... MI6.

I think it's dumb.

Bowler hats, Tories, chavs, whiskey, espionage, cold, football, tea, Stephen Fry, chips and Monty Python.

That's my all-encompassing conception anyway.
