I respect your strong opinion .I liked in until about episode 13 14 then thought it was OK Ive seen worst. Here's one for you love or hate Teekyu one of my favorites of the year with the the movie references of great and some not so great movies but it honors both. And the hidden jokes are insane. Its only two minutes but spend more time finding hidden jokes by online searches. So those that hate it hate it. But a lot of the knowledgeable and frequent posters like it so I dont feel alone. However that being said it cracks me up that SAO has the most debate. How good animes that get overlooked? Thats a debate in itself.Lets face it in the end its your preference.Good or bad.

I haven't watched anime in over a year, and before last month I didn't really care to. The anime I've watched in the past has been very sparingly, as I've never been big into it in any sense of the phrase. My friends introduced me to SAO, though, and it was incredible, not because of the story or action, but I think because of it's relation to my friends and I: a group of nerds playing video games online to stay in contact. It's a stretch, sure, but I feel that's why it was fun for me: I was there for the thrill of it and the fun of it, just letting myself get sucked into something different yet familiar.

Since then, though, I definitely agree with many points brought up by you guys: it's a story held together by threads, and the characters have no real chance of redeeming that. I found myself laughing at the absurdity of the relationships, of the scenarios, but only after I had gotten through the show. During it, though, I just wanted to suspend disbelief and enjoy it. And it was fun, albeit I don't plan on indulging further, rather I've been seeking out more proper animes.

Long story short, it's like the first Transformers movie: fun the first go round for the novelty and thrill of it. You'll always remember that first time and what it inspired in you, though.

I sure as hell hope so. I quit after whatever episode it was when Kirito gave away the revival item. I've never seen such a mind numblingly stupid main character in my life.

Well personally, I read the light novel first (Which is so much better than the anime by the way) which led to me watching the anime with friends and the fact that my friends and I LOVE to play video games all the time.

The anime itself was okay, not too great but probably around average. It did kind of seem messy at first and the story kind of dragged on, like it skipped some good parts from the light novel and made parts that were only like 1 or 2 pages, like 5 to 7 minutes. I'm sure theres going to be a season 3 and possibly a season 4, covering GGO (story arc with guns) with S4 covering volumes 7 and 8 and other side stories.

Its good, but its certainly not the best or at least how good people claim the anime adaptation of SAO to be. Accel world was better in my opinion. I'd probably give it a 4, 6 at most.
