Third Spring 2013 ANN spotlight is.... Gargantia on the Verderous Planet
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/anime-spotlight/2013/spring/gargantia

I now strongly believe that Funimation will end up with this. They'll tout "creator of Psycho-Pass, the director of Full Metal Alchemist: Star of Milos and the character designer from Fractale". That and Production I.G all point to Funi.

EDIT: Good news for those of us in the US.
http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-795505/global-shinkai-day-winners-and-movies-year-round

The movies 5 cms per second , Place Promised In Our Early Days and Voices Of A Distant Star are now available year-round on Crunchyroll. US-only due to licensing issues. It would be worldwide expect for Japan for the Global Shinkai Day weekends(so international folks will have to wait until next year).

I will be a little disappointed if Funi gets Gargantia, as its the show I'm looking forward to the most, but at Funi it will most likely get put on Hulu, just have to wait a little longer.

We are all anxious but they probably won't announce anything else until the 30th at the earliest.

Agreed, hopefully I can see everything I want here on Crunchyroll. I always dread the things Funi and TAN/AOD get

Crunchyroll could very well get Date A Live since I think that is a Kadokawa show(the niconico pre-air premieres in less than 7 days). I am 100% positive that somebody will simulcast Attack on Titan . However, I give Funimation about 60% chance of getting it.(I think they have about 80% chance of getting Galgantia).

Personally I think it's the opposite and Funi has a far more likely chance of getting Attack on Titan than Gargantia(there's a slight possiblity it may go to Viz since they usually tend to go after whatever the anime original show of the season is that's not done by Aniplex or Notimiya) since they do have a fairly consistent track record of getting Kodansha titles and it's more or less the biggest action show of the season/

So UK denizens, what's your predictions on who grabs what this Spring? Since it appears Anime-On-Demand is on its last legs, it appears CR might have a better chance at picking up more licenses for the UK this time around. (Hopefully)

Well I'm sure praying for a CR pickup on AoT. Until Funimation decides to fix that disaster zone know as their streaming service I'll find other means to enjoy anime. Not that I think CR apps and site are perfect but I swear it's like Funimation purposely makes their streaming site as user unfriendly and barely functional as possible.

I'm interested in what AoD does next season too. The final episode of Maoyuu won't air until May. The timing error on SnI episode 4 hasn't been fixed in the >1 week since the episode was uploaded.

The plan was, I think, to reintroduce paid membership at the end of this season, but I'm not sure if that will actually be possible now. Plus the total absence of any sort of communication in the last 2 months isn't exactly promising.

And I wonder when they make their announcements.

We'll just have to hope that, when and if the announcements come, they won't be obstructing Crunchyroll, will be a quality service, and won't be running 6 weeks behind again either. If they can hit at least 2 of these then I will be satisfied. But my hopes aren't very high for them even getting 1.

My opinion of them has dropped markedly over the last couple of months. And the amount of patronage they've been getting from me reflects that - I was watching all 6 of their current series at first, but now Mondaiji-tachi/Problem Children is the only one I'm still watching.

A Spring with no new Shonen Jump shows/seasons, when was the last time this happened? Well I'll be watching Attack on Titan for sure, and maybe Mushibugyo.

There is something going on at AoD. As you said, they went from being pretty good at keeping everyone up to speed with how the site was doing to being dead silent. On top of that, this season's series that they've picked up have all been free and in HD. That's nearly two months without them making any money off of their investments.

I don't trust Anime on Demand after how they handled this season's *cough* simulcasts. But at the same time, sometimes they pick up stuff that CR doesn't get. I gather that Daisuki is going to be available everywhere except Japan, so we might get some spring shows from there too (maybe Valvrave the Liberator and/or Oreimo 2?).

I think the two most likely candidates for TAN exclusives are the two TBS series, Yahari and Photo Kano, along with of course, Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Bride.

Funimation is harder to pin down, although I would certainly be surprised to see Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S at CR instead of Funimation.

The real wildcard is Daisuki. Will they pull the exclusive card?

Toei this season: I don't see anything new from them for the season, so no interference there. (I expect their big simulcastiing splash for Daisuki to be Sailor Moon in the summer).

TMS Entertainment: I don't see anything new from them for the season.

Sunrise: Battle Spirits: Sword Eyes Gekitouden, is their series, but given that the previous series have not been simulcast, this wouldn't be a loss to CR if they had it. The other one, Kakumeiki Valvrave is a bit more notable, however.

Aniplex: As we've seen with Oreimo 2, it seems unlikely they will cut off CR's tap. I could see Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000% being on Daisuki, however, as the first series was simulcast on NicoNico.com, and thus no current service has "standing" for the sequel. (It was before Funico, so Funimation doesn't have it). They also didn't put it on Hulu. The question is what else does Aniplex have this season?

Don't forget the same was true for the winter season. That means when all is said and done, it will be 6 months with no income other than the pre-roll ad.

NicoNico went 3 seasons with no income (and two with HD video) before they called it quits on simulcasting.
