I really hope that crunchyroll, or funimation will do a simulcast of Arata Kangatari "Arata the Legend".

The real wildcard is Daisuki. Will they pull the exclusive card?

Toei this season: I don't see anything new from them for the season, so no interference there. (I expect their big simulcastiing splash for Daisuki to be Sailor Moon in the summer).

TMS Entertainment: I don't see anything new from them for the season.

Sunrise: Battle Spirits: Sword Eyes Gekitouden, is their series, but given that the previous series have not been simulcast, this wouldn't be a loss to CR if they had it. The other one, Kakumeiki Valvrave is a bit more notable, however.

Aniplex: As we've seen with Oreimo 2, it seems unlikely they will cut off CR's tap. I could see Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000% being on Daisuki, however, as the first series was simulcast on NicoNico.com, and thus no current service has "standing" for the sequel. (It was before Funico, so Funimation doesn't have it). They also didn't put it on Hulu. The question is what else does Aniplex have this season?

Dentsu(based on ANN's coverage of TAF): Danball Senki , new Tanken Driland, DD Hokuto no Ken . I've seen Dentsu on quite a few anime that also have had TV Tokyo in the credits. I imagine TV Tokyo's and Dentsu's relationship will be interesting since both have a stake in competing streaming sites

@ jglibra03. Arata Kangatari could be Crunchyroll(it is a TV Tokyo series) but Viz publishes the manga and it fits their fit of show so Viz very well could announce that they have licensed it this weekend. Funimation has an outside chance too(but less than Viz).

Gargantia and Attack on Titan are my most anticipated, but I doubt CR will get both of them, I think Funi will end up with at least one of them. Also looking forward to Date a Live, Crime Edge, Devil Survivor 2, Oreimo 2, and Hataraku Maou-Sama.

I also want to see Aura: Maryuuinkouga Saigo no Tatakai, maybe somebody will License that.

There is something going on at AoD. As you said, they went from being pretty good at keeping everyone up to speed with how the site was doing to being dead silent. On top of that, this season's series that they've picked up have all been free and in HD. That's nearly two months without them making any money off of their investments.

Don't forget the same was true for the winter season. That means when all is said and done, it will be 6 months with no income other than the pre-roll ad.

NicoNico went 3 seasons with no income (and two with HD video) before they called it quits on simulcasting.

kzplay streams with 7 Euro "regular" and 10 Euro "premium" subscriptions (in French to France and Francophone license countries) Magi, Tamako Market and Samai-san@Gambarai, so the "floating without visible means of support" licenses, from looking at the AoD site (and I don't have a UK proxy so I cannot test which ones actually stream) are Maoyu, Problem Children, and Student Council's Discretion Level 2, all three of which UK anime fans could just watch on Crunchyroll if UK rights had not been outbid by AoD.

Since we know that contracting costs and MG's are more than subtitling costs, and since AoD clearly shares the same web site design as kzplay, the question that raises is how long they are going to outbid Crunchyroll for UK rights for series that Kaze does not pick up for kzplay.

Also note that the last time kzplay only had 3 series was Spring 2011, when they had two seasonal simulcasts and the longer-running Beelzebub. It may be that Anime on Demand was banking in part on getting a free ride on series acquired for KzPlay, only to find the free ride being downscaled from a van to a subcompact.

ANN interviewed the president of Daisuki, and it sounds like good news for CR. Rather than being yet another streaming service, the plan is apparently to create an aggregator that lets people watch shows from Crunchy, Funi and Viz all through a single service.

There's nothing there that says they are aggregating instead of streaming. It reads more like they are streaming titles alongside the streams of licensees.

That is, while the interview says they are aggregating the titles that are on Crunchyroll, Funimation, etc., nothing in it explicitly states that they are aggregating the streams from Crunchyroll, Funimation, etc.

The key phrase there is three words:

It's not exclusive, but you can see all the shows on Daisuki.

That suggests that when these international licensors license streaming rights, they are either going to be shared rights, or only a short exclusive license window (like a week), or else carve Daisuki shared rights out in the contract.

The interesting question with Daisuki will be whether they stream to all regions.

I am seriously expecting a HOW MUCH ?!?!? price though.

They keep saying worldwide outside Japan, I've never seen them hedging on that. They are, after all, the only ones who can actually promise it, since they can just write their licensing contracts to allow them shared streaming rights.

I'm kind of not, since I think they are going to try to use the site to sell merch, so I think there'll be an ad-streaming free option and a subscriber option not too far off of Crunchyroll / Funimation / TAN / HuluPlus.

OTOH, looking at the six titles they are involved with in Winter 2013, I don't watch a single one, so I would probably just be there for the catalog titles.

If Devil Survivor 2 The Animation lives up to the Persona 4 Anime, then I hope Crunchyroll gets it.

Less than 7 days until these premiere(as of 7:25 p.m EDT) from Countdown.

Train Heroes -6d 9h(Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 5:30 pm JST)
DD Hokuto no Ken- 6d 17h (Wednesday, April 3, 2013 1:40 a.m JST)

It will be interesting to see what regions DD Hokuto no Ken will be available in since Dentsu is part of Daisuki and it is on the production committee of that anime. It also airs on TV Tokyo and Crunchyroll usually gets good regional availability for TV Tokyo shows.

Also, Countdown now lists 16 shows for Summer 2013 so I imagine that a Summer 2013 thread should be opened soon.

Sounds like TheAncientOne is busy, perhaps he is hoping someone else will take over for summer. Does he want to comment, I wonder?

Same here. After next week the only shows I will have left will be Chihayafuru 2 which I love, Love, LOVE! And Space Brothers which has gotten boring, Boring, BORING with survival training... I hope it heads back to Space sometime soon...

And I hope, other than Oreimo 2, that I have some more shows to watch or else it will be weird after having watched 20-25 simulcasts a week for the last umpteen seasons. It really doesn't feel like there will be that many for me to watch this time. Very, very odd... Just not gettin' the call to action this season

I still think this will be licensed by Sentai, but we'll see.
