The key phrase there is three words:

It's not exclusive, but you can see all the shows on Daisuki.

That suggests that when these international licensors license streaming rights, they are either going to be shared rights, or only a short exclusive license window (like a week), or else carve Daisuki shared rights out in the contract.

You also have to wonder if they were talking about catalog titles or simulcasts with that statement. As you say they probably won't have too many simulcasts*, so they could just be talking about the majority of their series. Using a sequel such as Oreimo 2 as a basis for them being non-exclusive doesn't provide any conclusive evidence either, so we'll just have to wait and see.

* There could be a decent number if they pick up other ongoings from those companies, although they are mainly kids series like Battle Spirits, Aikatsu, Inazuma Eleven, Danball Senki, YGO Zexal, Gyrozetter, Tanken Driland etc.

If Devil Survivor 2 The Animation lives up to the Persona 4 Anime, then I hope Crunchyroll gets it.

Doesn't The Anime Network have the Persona anime though?
Yeah that's jumping to conclusions lol but still, you never know

But yeah I do hope CR gets it

Showgate owns the international license to devil survival 2 so its highly likely CR will end up streaming it. As well as the summers dangan ronpa.

I meant not many really excite me. Titan, Oreimo 2, Red Data Girl, Date a Live, Gargantia, Aku no Hana, Hentai Prince, Karneval, Valvrave, Photo Kana, Sparrows Hotel interest me but, only RDG and Oreimo 2 really excite me so far. Usually I am excited about more shows by now, that's all I mean. And only twelve interest me, usually thirty interest me.

What are you interested in or excited for?

Perhaps I'll watch Oreimo 2, and Titan, but that's it. Nothing really stands out to me, no gems hidden in the haystack from the looks of this chart.

As far as catalog titles, they can make it so for those as well, by only streaming catalog series that have no current exclusive streaming rights licensed out.

Since a license term is normally 7 years (and almost always 5-9), that would be almost anything in their catalog that was not re-licensed not only from the 90's but also into the middle of the last decade. Even if they write new licenses for any of those series in the future, they'd just write the new streaming license terms to be compatible with also streaming in the Daisuki catalog.

So they write a clause once and add it to their standard license language, and from that point on, the bulk of contracting costs are entirely avoided for the series where a Daisuki partner is holding the original international distribution rights. And saving contracting rights for licenses is where they get their cost advantage on catalog titles, allowing for a deeper catalog.

If home video distributors and broadcasters want streaming rights, it would be silly to lock them down. Even if its streaming rights on a stand-alone basis, the temptation is to license them out, since that means a MG payment is made rather than taking the risk on the revenue that the show will earn at Daisuki,

A principle question they'll have to decide is whether they hold an exclusive streaming rights in the first week, since obviously Crunchyroll would have to offer a lower MG for seasonal streaming rights than they could offer for simulcast rights.

For me, if I learnt anything from last season, it's that great shows can come from nowhere, and some shows get marketing budgets they don't deserve.

I mean, I was interested in Oreshura, Vividred Operation & Amnesia, and felt all three were pretty weak, yet Kotoura-san, Problem Children & Unlimited Hyoube Kyousuke came from nowhere and were great.

This season I'm looking forward to Oreimo 2, as the first season was great and the material gets better and better for season 2.

I also want to see Devil Survivor 2, but can't believe that Crunchyroll would get that one. After Persona 4 I expect it to be a fairly biggish licence. I can definitely see Kaze going after the Europe rights for it.

I agree that Kotoura-san and Problem Children were wonderful surprises..I love Vividred but agree it could have been better, but it was a big one I was looking forward to so I may have had my expectations too high. Oreshura I disliked at first but by the end I am enjoying it.

Still, there seem to be less. I am always surprised but I see less possibilities. Hope I am wrong.

Looks like Funimation will do most of its Sakuracon annoucements on Friday(Crunchyroll's panel is on Saturday. I can't remember if Viz has theirs on Friday or Saturday). I imagine that Funimation may let a simulcast announcement happen(but they'll probably wait a week or two for the rest because they usually announce late). Since Sakaracon is a big convention and they are hyping Psycho-Pass that weekend, I would expect that Galgantia and/or Attack on Titan would be what they'd announce.

I imagine that if Crunchyroll doesn't do a bunch of annoucements at Sakuracon, they'll have to do a boatload of simulcast annoucements next week since most of the Spring 2013 anime starts next week.

And premiering in less than 7 days according to Countdown:(as of 5:35 pm EDT)
Train Heroes- 5d 10h(Tuesday, April 2nd 5:30 pm JST)
DD Hokuto no Ken- 5d 19h(Wednesday, April 3rd 1:40 a.m JST)
Line Town season 2-6d 11h(Wednesday, April 3rd 6:30 pm JST) [note: 30 minute weekly episodes for this season]
Danball Senki Wars-6d 12h(Wednesday April 3rd 7:27 pm JST)
Gakkatsu 2nd season- 6d 13h(Wednesday, April 3rd 7:55 pm JST) [note: 5 minute anime]
Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge-6d 17h(Thursday, April 4th 12:30 a.m JST)
Aiura- 6d 18h(Thursday, April 4th 12:35 a.m JST) [note: 5 minute anime]
Uta no Prince-sama 2-6d 19h(Thursday April 4th 2:05 a.m JST)
Karneval-6d 20h(Thursday, April 4th 2:48 a.m JST)

I can easily imagine that Crunchyroll could annouce RDG: Red Data Girl (whose broadcast premiere is early morning April 4th), DD Hokuto no Ken , Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge , Aiura and Karneval at Sakaracon or early next week to be on time for their broadcast premieres.

i Think looking aT The lisT and deciding to not watch any one of them is a mistake every time. anime is something i think you can never tell whether or not it will be good or not from a simple plot description or picture. I mean think back to the seasons and how many surprises you have had with a series you thought would be terribad.

I always watch every series that is released and then ater a few episodes if it is in fact terribad then i will stop watching. I personally like to give everything atleast 5 episodes. Although i will say i have a rather sizeable interest range so i tend to end up watching and liking most of the anime i watch etc.

The third (which also the last) episode of Aoi Sekai no Chushin de is confirmed airing on 4th April in Japan, I expect Crunchyroll going to made announcement about it soon along with new simulcast titles.

Saki Episode of Side A can be considered as a continuing titles, episode 15 is going to be aired on 2nd April and episode 16 (which also the last) is going to be aired on 25th May. Again, I expect Crunchyroll going to made announcement about episode 15 simulcast soon.

Straight Title Robot Anime can also considered as continuing since episode 9-12 is going to be aired in April.

TV Aichi already made a temporary schedule for Folktales from Japan up to episode 65, so it definitely still continuing. The new episode this week (episode 52) is a rerun just like episode 27 which was skipped, that's why it isn't listed in the Launch Calendar.
