Spring 2013 Anime

Norza is on it like white on rice and has already released new chart with it and Gundam Seed Remastered listed: http://i5.minus.com/ir7bVx83Seluh.jpg |

The chart included non-anime and reruns, which kind of cluttered up the actual count of new series.
A point of note: Kacho Shima Kosaku (課長島耕作) is the title of the 1st manga series, not the title of the anime series (島耕作のアジア立志伝). Probably the reason why there's a (?) besides the name since they don't have the correct romaji title. EDIT: Countdown has changed the title with a note attributing to a mis-translation. |

The same could be said of the Neregate charts I used in the past, which listed titles such as Train Hero (which as I understand is a Chinese series), Thomas the Tank Engine for a while one season (although I believe that was removed once it was clear it was a dub), and the remasters for Gundam Seed and Nadia. Perhaps a separate section for reruns and series not of Japanese origin would be a good compromise? The creator of the chart does have an account here on CR (under a different name), so I expect he will see your comments. |

TheAncientOne wrote: The same could be said of the Neregate charts I used in the past, which listed titles such as Train Hero (which as I understand is a Chinese series) Train Heroes kinda falls in the grey area since it is a co-production between TV Tokyo and Carloon. I guess it'd have to depend on what aspect of the series the Japanese side is involved in. If it is just dubbing in Japanese, then it should not be considered as anime since the CG animations were done solely in China. An article on Train Heroes just a few days ago, http://news.nicovideo.jp/watch/nw495377 , that may shed some light on the production aspect but it is in Japanese. Maybe someone can translate that. |

ANN confirms that Joujuu Senjin!! Mushibugyou is a Spring series, and animated by Seven Arcs(the studio behind Nanoha and Dog Days). I wouldn't be surprised if Viz wound up streaming it.

But I know from experience that I am going to end up watching more anime than look interesting to me from the card, and am going to end up disappointed in at least one that sounds OK based on the card. |

It's probably really early to start making simulcast predictions but based off the current chart:
Funimation Attack on Titan- It's a Kodansha series and given how mainstream the title is it seems like a no-brainer Date A Live To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S Karneval Jojuu Senjin Mushibugyo Viz Media Arata Kangatari- They already have the manga for it and it seems like their kind of fantasy series Suisei no Gargantia- Basing this theory off of it being a Bandai Visual title and they have a fairly good relationship with them at the moment. Could go to Sentai, but they tend to stay away from larger shows right out of the gate. Plus since they didn't get anything for the winter season, I'd imagine Viz'll end up with more than just one show for the spring like last year. Aniplex USA Oreimo Season 2 Valverave the Liberator- I'm not too sure about this one. They'll probably get it since Aniplex is producing it in Japan but since it's also being done by Sunrise I don't know how much of a lock this one is for them. If they don't get it's a tossup between Funimation and Viz. Sentai Filmworks Aku no Hana Devil Survivor 2- Just basing this off the fact that they picked up Persona 4's anime. Hyakkan Ryouran: Samurai Bride RDG: Red Data Girl Photo Kano Crunchyroll will definently get the new season of Hayate and whatever else airs on TV Tokyo. Not sure whether or not Yamato 2199 will get licensed since the rights for that franchise are a bit weird from what I've heard. If it does get simulcast it'll probably be Funimation though. GITS Arise is also a bit of a tossup(provided it actually airs in Spring and Manga Entertainment stays quiet). |

Just to note, FansubDB has Gin no Saji(Silver Spoon) as a Summer 2013 series. Since it is already known to be a NoitaminA series, it will air on Fuji TV and FansubDB has it airing Thursdays(really Friday) at 24:45(12:45 a.m JST).
