G::: A little bit, yes.

Clannad got through to me pretty hard, probably changed my worldview.

As in am I emotionally engaged by the shows? Hell yeah. otherwise why bother?

As in making "The-great-ART-anime-that-no-one-should-dare-compare-to-cartoons" a part of my identity? Nope.

I'd take illusions seriously if they cured cancer.

I don't take anime itself seriously but there are times when I have emotional responses to it when I can connect something in it to my life that I feel strongly about.

The main focus of anime is to entertain. I would have to say that it does that quite well.

As far as being taken serious, there are a few that make one think, to ponder the possibilities.

Not really. I do learn some life lessons in it though. It also inspired me to try some things out too.

I LOVE Anime, have tried the kamehameha in real life, hell i even tried the spirit bomb once and almost broke my back. I tried to shoot energy beams or even try to fly. But, after all that effort, I still couldn't master it.

I do LOVE anime, but not take it too seriously, otherwise, I'm going to seriously injure myself next time.

I think it really depends on what I'm watching :P

Series with characters, especially main characters that are similar to myself I take more seriously than those which I cant relate to

Series about real life and society I take more seriously than fantasy worlds....

So the series which I took most seriously was Clannad: the after story, because some of the things Okazaki said shocked me a little bit as they were exactly on my line of thought! :D
Because of this, I took the message that life was not going to be easy very seriously... I'd never thought about it in so much detail
