G::: Insidious, the movie was incredibly cheezy, but the scary sound effects were well placed. (Also, it's the only horror film I have ever watched)

Hellraiser. That was a scary film for me as a child. It irks me to this day, but thankfully no more nightmares.

The first paranormal activity. Only because one:I was tricked into believing it was real and two: I watched it by myself at night since I downloaded it.

If you're talking about the american remake you need to see the original.. Japanese originals are ALWAYS better no exceptions! It's called Ringu.
I don't stay up all night from watching horror films but the last one I watched was Imprint by Takashi Miike and it was disturbing.

Final destination was the 1st. The burning and beheading scenes scared the hell out of me, being the 1st film of that nature I saw.
Nightmare on elm street, was afraid after the bed scene.
The Ring scared me in that the bodies looked horrible, like they were still screaming after death. I didn't enter rooms with the tele blurring for at least 3 months, didn't help that the tv always faces me in bedroom.
Paranormal activity doesn't keep me up at night but when I did watch them, something happened in the house to make me jump out of my skin. I.e. doors slammed in the film the exact moment my bro slams the door. I friggin ran from my room right into him. Hell of a laugh afterwards.
Most of the things that would keep me up now are the nightmares my own imagination cooks up, i.e. 8 foot tarantulas devouring my insides.
