I mean, bacon's alright but the Internet's obsession with it is pretty obnoxious. There are lots of ways of getting your salty fat fix that are less like chewing on your winter tires.

Bacon is alright I guess. Better than waffles. I hate waffles, and everyone who eats them too.

- Processed Meat Linked to Premature Death
- http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/03/130306220950.htm

In a huge study of half a million men and women, research in Biomed Central's open access journal BMC Medicine demonstrates an association between processed meat and cardiovascular disease and cancer.

- A Sausage a Day Is Too Many, Research Suggests
- http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/03/130307124804.htm

Anyone who eats over 40 grams a day of sausage products or other kinds of processed meat is asking for trouble: the risk of mortality increases by 18 percent for every 50 grams of processed meat per day. This is the result of a study conducted with around 450,000 participants by the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Zurich in collaboration with research colleagues from all over Europe.

- Red Meat Consumption Linked to Increased Risk of Total, Cardiovascular, and Cancer Mortality
- http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/03/120312162746.htm

A new study from Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) researchers has found that red meat consumption is associated with an increased risk of total, cardiovascular, and cancer mortality. The results also showed that substituting other healthy protein sources, such as fish, poultry, nuts, and legumes, was associated with a lower risk of mortality.

Because it's fucking good and if you disagree I will hunt you down and jam a spoon through your left eye socket. That goes double for whoever invented that abomination that is "turkey bacon".

I honestly can't taste the difference of the two. But my stomach doesn't go well with pork, so I'm more fond of the turkey.

Everyone loves bacon because people are followers of it. If no one made funny jokes about it, it would be as popular as the next food.
