i try to find the best in them. you can't like everyone, especially people who grate on you, but we're all 'that one person, ugh' to someone. i try to be kind, see if i can't find a reason to like them, or leave, if my only option is negativity. i'm no saint. i can get pretty angry over things that aren't worth arguing about, but it's good to try.

Pretend to be dumb sounds good. A comrade of mine told me about he got stopped by the cops because his left front light where off. They said: Put that back ASAP. Then he played dumb and said: ASAP? speak Norwegian man. Lol I laughed of that! The police are strict and though but got owned by some small talk XD

Don't confuse dumb with ignorance. I once discussed special relativity with some manual workers where I had a summer job but instead of light, I used the experience that they had with sound. They got the the main points. I did not use labels or mathematics just their experience with sound and I asked leading questions.
The smartest man I ever knew never got past the 8th grade so don't confuse having education with being smart either. I have met far too many educated idiots who never grew past what they were reciting from their teachers with a total lack of understanding, just spewing words. <small rant over>
