Slap them.
Like literally.
Or knock 'em down.
That'll shut them up for quite a while.

Why the hell are you so violent?

I dunno I'm actually not violent, I just got that feeling the person who made this topic had. :'D I'm actually a really nice person. Believe it or not-_-

LOL, I agree. The only people who go around calling others "dumb" are the ones who have inferiority complexes and are probably more likely to exhibit aggressive behavior.

No one's dumb. Just extremely misinformed people. Extremelyyyyyyy.
But to deal with those misinformed twits I just do a quicky tap dance on their graves. "Tappity tap, hoes" Word.

I mostly just ignore them.

If I have to engage in any length of conversation with them, I stay as uncommitted to the topic as possible by shrugging or saying "I dunno" so as to avoid an argument. If the option is available I will pretend to be extremely into whatever I have on hand...my phone, a book, my DS, etc. and I won't look up. This usually makes them get bored and go away since I'm not into whatever they're saying.

If it's someone I have to deal with and I can't avoid them and I have to answer them (like a student who wants in the labs without an official faculty present) I remain firm in my answer and act like a broken record, repeating over and over my answer til they leave.

I kind of get the OP's feelings. And many of the other people here.

Sometimes you run into people you barely know and for the 10-15 minutes you have to deal with them they continuously act...dumb. Not to be mean or anything. And from that interaction we assume all future interactions will be the same.

It's usually not even them being "dumb" so much as lacking SOOO much common sense you have to think of them as dumb. And ignorance, the ones whose opinion is truth and everyone else is wrong. I see a lot of those too. I don't consider them inferior, I do find sadness in the matter that they're not thinking right or just too closed minded to consider what others have to say.

This is the 3rd one of your ridiculous questions I am replying to (although... I kind of like doing this...).

How I deal with dumb people- I act dumber than them.

Stay well away from them when I can, but sometimes they're my boss.

I don't deal with dumb people, which is why I have few friends. Kids at school idolize stupid people thanks to TV and politicians need a stupid populace in order for their careers to thrive.

No, they are not dumb, it is just that you do not understand their thought process at that particular time. If you would actually take the time to get to know them and their perspective on things, you will either see that they are right or wrong. Just because they are wrong does not make them a dumb person, they just haven't had the same experiences as you have in order to see the truth, it doesn't mean that they are incapable of ever thinking the right way, you just need to give them a chance to learn. If they are unwilling to learn, just ignore them or work them through their psychological problems to help them reach their full potential, there is no need to call them dumb.
