I worked with someone with a severe stupidity for five years until just recently. He worked here for 17 years before they finally dropped him. He would be told, every Wednesday in a meeting, what he did wrong, and within two weeks, do the same thing, the same way, yet again. He hemorrhaged money from this company. I couldn't believe it took them 17 years, and it makes me fear for the intelligence of my employers.

That's interesting. I swear I've worked with that same guy at each job I've ever had (or maybe he just has brothers. . .). I think he actually owns Memphis.

I think that if you knew these people better you would be able to figure out why they are acting this way. If you talked to them long enough, you would be able to convince them of why they should follow these procedures.

The reason they wanted to bypass me is 1.) The person with the food got kicked out of class because she wouldn't throw it out and took a grade hit and she was trying to take her own stupidity out on me. 2.) The unprepared person was also not allowed in the lab and took a grade hit so he tried to take it out on me. Neither wanted to admit they were at fault for something that has been drilled into their heads for 5 weeks now. No food allowed in lab. If you're not wearing protective gear, you're not allowed in lab.

They wanted to seem smarter by blaming their lack of common sense on someone else. And they had nasty attitudes about it too, I was very polite about it. Their instructors were polite about it.

Today a woman tried to bring her kids to class (a 6 year old and an 8 year old) and was angry we chased her out of the lab area (no children under the age of 18 are allowed beyond the first floor waiting area, 3rd floor is where all the dangerous stuff is and the expensive stuff). She blatantly told us she knew they weren't allowed up there but she was going to do it anyway, and we called security on her. How could she even think of letting her kids be in a dangerous area? (The 6 year old tried to dump our broken glass box, thankfully it was too heavy for him to do so.)

let them do it . let evolution run its course. survival of the fittest (in this case the intelligent) and hope they don't reproduce before evolution runs its course

They do something to hurt themselves, we pay the price though we warned them. We get sued.

Last year a woman brought a child up to the computer labs. Was asked to remove herself and the child, refused, child then injured himself on a chair and she sued. Not sure if she was successful or not, I hope to god she wasn't. She'd been asked 3 times before someone went to get security to make her get out and it was in that time frame the kid got on a chair that spun and feel off it hitting his head (he was fine, but got a bump).

I think they're funny because you can mess with their minds. The funny part is that they don't even notice that you are manipulating them like a puppet.

~ for me there's no such thing as a dumb person i don't call people that picks up slow to a conversation or anything like that ~ its really rude. and really unfair for me to think that way for a person.

I simply laugh to myself and thank the higher power for my intelligence. We all have our levels of dumbness, its differs how we react when we realize we are having one of those moments. Either we can accept it and learn from it or blame everyone and everything and refuse to acknowledge it. If it weren't for the dumb people i wouldn't feel so smart. Its apart of the balance of life

If I were you, I would work on my grammar for just a bit longer before I start calling people dumb.

If they don't talk to me, I just ignore them.
If they do talk to me, I try to find a quick way out of the conversation.

Dumb or ignorant?

Dumb is usually accidental.

Ignorance is a choice.

No. Far more often than not we are unaware of what we don't know.

I enjoy their ignorance by making jokes that are so far beyond their understanding that they think I am complementing them.
