I have been an anime fan since I first learned how to put my older brother's and father's video cassets into our VCR, and have seen quite a few anime since. Some were great, some, awful. But there are a few fantastic shows out there that no one seems to talk about for whatever reason. Please post yours here. These are mine:
1. Serial Experiments Lain: This is a creepy philosophical thriller about a girl who discovers a new world hidden from our view. After the suicide of a classmate, the same classmate sends Lain an email. Curious, Lain does research into this new thing we call the internet, only to find horrors we though unimaginable. 2. Texhnolyze: In the underground city of Lux, an underground street fighter named Ichise is wounded, and is forced to get a kind of prosthetic limb known as a Texhnolyzed limb, a superior limb that runs on a chemical excreated from dead bodies. However, as political tensions reach their breaking point in Lux, Ichise is forced into a war he doesn't want to be a part of. Those are my two, what are yours? |

Oh I love this series too.. takes me back... actually this was one of 3 manga's I encountered the first time I learned about manga the other 2 was Black Jack and Gon the little dinosaur. I would have to say I really liked Pilot for Candidate and Princess Rouge when I was really young they both ended to quickly. Now I would have to say Natsume Yuujinchou... and many others... |

That was too close, you were almost a Jill Sandwich.

I am gonna put a vote in for Martian Successor Nadesico.
Basically a 90s mecha series that parodies mecha series. |

Ones I've finished fairly recently could fit in the category of 'hidden gems'. Those being:
Mouryou no Hako FLAG Uta Koi |

Dragon Crisis - I know it hasnt been getting great views and I wouldnt say Ive got a bad taste in anime, but for some reason I've got a soft spot for this anime that I don't really get anime more.
Probably because I saw this years ago and have seen many more series since then, but I've never been able to attain a feeling similar to the one I got after finishing this. Its hard to put it into words, but a nostalgic bliss laced with a reflective sense of desired flare is probably the closest I can get to it. This will most likley not make sense to anyone else but this is just my opinion... |

- Elf Princess Raine (one shot DVD)
- Magic User's Club OVAs (great six episodes) - Hyper Police (old series with humans, catgirls, foxgirls, dogboys, and short fat demons) - Puppet Princess (odd story with gratuitous violence, gore, and some nudity) - Ruin Explorers (four episodes, good cast, tons of fun) |

I think I know what you mean. This show and Chrno Crusade both give me that feeling. |
