The Chinese government has been this way for a long time and it's doubtful you'll see a significant change in your lifetime, barring some massive watershed moment which can instantly be shared with the rest of the world thanks to technology.

It is technology itself which often provides just such watershed moments. Control of information is control of people, but sometimes a new technology creates just too much access to information to be controlled. . .

Really? Is there any articles on it? I would like to read about it. I've been wondering why nobody in China stands up to their government.

Because they will most likely hunt you down and kill you?

Do a simple Google search of Tiananmen Square.

I don't know where you were educated, but you deserve a refund.

That's what nearly every government does. If you're going to protest someone is eventually going to get killed.

There is no need to be rude. I mean in modern day time now, not in the past. I don't focus on Chinese history as I have no need to, sure I've been forced to study it in the past but I don't go up to the 1900's. Just because someone doesn't know certain things in history doesn't mean you should know nearly everything. I'm in highschool and still learning things, and that's quite the rude comment and I just haven't reached the chapter. I know in the past , people have rebelled but I'm talking why they haven't rebelled very recently.

The last time I said I hate the Chinese government, someone told me I was racist. I'm not really sure where that leaves my opinion of them. Certainly in the gutter, but certainly not even worth debating with people, I guess.

Not around here in this creepy gated French community.

Ah, well. Each government has its flaws, but I can see what you guys are all saying.
I have some friends from China, and they seem fine with the government and such, but I can't
really give an opinion till I've experienced it for myself.

Yeah. But maybe my friends just aren't telling me everything because I'd force them to come live with me if I
found out otherwise.

I was pretty down when I went to China on vacation and can't go on google or gmail and other many sites. Good thing is that you can use proxy or have a VPN to bypass these things.
