Probably the three most iconic, impactful and memorable anime characters ever created.
But which one,

is more iconic?
is more memorable?
made the bigger impact?
and up to this day, continues to influence other anime characters?

Feel free to show us receipts / statistics to back up your claims.
Discuss.

I was going to say the same thing due to my bias, however, I would have to sat all of the above... When I think of anime I think of all 3 each has defined their respective genres

Pikachu of course. Ask any elderly folk who Goku or Sailor Moon is, they won't know/remember either. Ask who Pikachu is and the answer is more favorable. Pikachu has the advantage its Not only a yearly anime but games too.

Biggest impact has to be a tie for Goku and Sailormoon. Both are a heavy influence for many Mangas and Anime even to this day.

Icon: Pikachu
Memorable: Pikachu, Goku
Bigger Impact: Goku = Sailormoon.

Edit: Sorry for grammar mistakes... Have a terrible migraine atm lol. ^_^

I just wanted to say that it's 孫 悟空, or in romanized japanese, son goku, not san.

goku is easily the most iconic, memorable and lovable out of the 3 for 3 reasons.

1. He was the epitome of shounen manga, power-up for a new fight, wash rinse repeat cycle which has been the norm in shounen for decades.

2. He can't die, and even if he does, he comes back to life later, even stronger. gets turned into a kid again, and then made immortal by a dragon.

3. akira toriyama, the only man who can recycle the same character designs across several manga, games and anime for decades and still make money on it. nuff said.

you have to admit his death's in dbz made a pretty big impact, especially the cell saga. if only the fans would have let gohan become the main character and let goku rest.

second is a toss up, you have arguably the start of the all the magical girl crap that still haunts us to this day, and an electric rodent who didn't even like his owner at first.

well, I guess the idea for pokemon brought out stuff like bakugan, yugioh, kiba, digimon, and countless other game driven manga and anime. I wouldn't say pikachu influenced it though, I would say the marketing influenced it. even dragonball had a card game in japan back in the 90's.

Pikachu, then Goku, the Sailor Moon. But Pikachu had an unfair advantage of being part of one of the best selling game series of all time.

Goku and Sailor Moon for me. Pikachu was a somewhat cute character, but it also irritated me for some reason.

First I did watch watch all three. Now whether I watched DBZ or Pokemon first I dont know.I first watched Sailor Moon on the old on demand

Iconic Pokemon has made a lasting impression.

Impact DBZ(Goku) has spawned an entire genre of anime.Second would be Pokemon. But You cant exclude Sailor Moon either as a whole bunch of shows are based off of that.

Most memorable Iwould say Sailor Moon because I watched ir on early on demand and introduced to lees mainstream anime as good or better.

Lasting impact I think all three continue to show up in one form or another today. You can make all kind of valid points for each and you be right.

But yes these were the forerunners that changed how we vwatch and viewed anime.

Sailor Moon for me.

Originally it was intended for little girls, but it has captured the hearts of children and adults alike, male and female.

Pikachu is the most modern so I'll go with him. Plus he is in gaming as well.
Pikachu is popular with boys and girls as for goku and sailor moon its only one or the other mainly.
I bet if you did a poll , in a non anime forum pikachu would win big time. You never know though.

heh, not at all. Sailor Moon is popular with both male and female. general rule of magical girl anime is that it's an all audiences thing. for different reasons.

I think all three are equally iconic because they appeal to different genres.
