Bleach.

I've invested so much time in it - more than on any other anime having watched all the in-canon episodes - so I feel as if I should 'love' it but I don't. To be honest, I probably only bothered watching it all because my friend kept coaxing me to keep with it because a really good part was supposedly coming up. Granted, he wasn't wrong, but a lot of time I was just bored watching what I felt was a fairly generic shounen anime with characters that are largely undeveloped - in fact the latter is one of my main criticisms of Bleach. There are so many characters but so few gather any depth, and those that do don't get much of it.

Edit:

Oh, and Neon Genesis Evangelion, an anime that I felt had a lot going for it but at so many times went nonsensical or cheesy. I still liked it but I bet that it could have been my most favourite anime with firmer direction and just a little bit more of a feelgood factor. Perhaps I'm just missing the point, though.

Spice and Wolf... The dialouges are just way too long and I have to force myself to sit there for 25 mins, when it feels like 2 hours -_-

I'd say Gintama

Everyone has very good opinions of it, and some of the things they say about it make me think, I'd love to see that!
... But after three attempts, I've found I can't get past episode 2 I just don't GET it!

All of my anime friends at work made me start watching Evangelion. I powered my way to episode 18 or so, but I am finding it hard to keep going. Only reason I made it to 18 was because I was contently being told to watch it. It seems nice, but idk it keeps boring me no matter what.

Clannad The Movie and Air The Movie. Mmm... The detailed dialogue is rushed in the movies and artwork suffer in comparison to the original. I understand to fit within a two hour frame but mabye an original concept would've been ideal.
A fine movie in my experience was The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya; so not saying that anime movies are bad.

Naruto. It just isn't working for me. Needless to say I'm thankful for not having to invest a bazillion hours into another long running series.

As much as I ended up hating Bleach, I "finished" it for the sake of finishing it...but wished I had stopped after S2 lol

Definitely Sword Art Online. Yeah I know it's really good, but I just can't put it into my Top 10 list. Also, it's too mainstream.

I can understand if it's not your cup of tea. It mixes various brands of humor with occasional serious storytelling. So you get randomness and then action and drama. But you stopped at episode 2? The first two episodes are filler and pretty much bottom of the barrel. I wouldn't base the show's quality off of those. Perhaps try a later episode?

I've never had anyone tell me that it actually does bet better as it goes along! The first two episodes are filler? Maybe that's why I couldn't quite latch onto the story...

After what you said, I think I may give it another try :3 If I get some time to myself, I will try and watch some more! Thanks for the suggestion

I can't get into Gurren Lagann. I know it's a good anime and I love it's plot but I just can seem to continually watch it.
Maybe it's just because I'm not big on the mech side of anime genres.
