Fate/Zero is on my to-watch list. As far as thought provoking goes, I really enjoyed Shin Sekai Yori. Felt kinda like The Giver, which was a pretty good book.

You had to say the one book I did not have a particularly good experience with haha. I'll definitely check out Shin Sekai Yori, looks interesting

Just the whole concept of "not cut out for society? See ya!"

Ah I see, so they're becoming Jehovah Witnesses haha jk.

Well it sounds way better than your typical high school anime that's for sure

Sounds almost like the ending of Kokorro connect (sort of)
or Flowers of evil (though sometimes I think that show just wants to mess with me for the sake of doing it)

Actually there was one exception to the big robot thing: I've watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

You're missing out on this one, Madoka is easily one of the most important anime out of the past decade. Just think of it as a soldier with severe PTSD inventively describing his service during the Vietnam War; it's surprisingly fitting.

I'd definitely say there's nothing wrong with putting Kokoro Connect and SSY in the same category.

I can say this: I've read so much and seen so much that it takes a lot of get a reaction out of me. However, several times did SSY send shivers down my spine or make me gasp or even bring me tears. I wish I could read the original novels, but they haven't been published in English. And even though I'm learning Japanese, one: I'm no where near fluent enough to attempt to read them, two: I haven't really been able to find them for purchase online unless I really wanted to pay an ungodly amount of money.

Well the very first one was good for me (Gundam 0079). I heard Zeta, the second gundam series was good. Gundam Wing was nice though it does get a bit wordy at times, still its a classic. Gundam Seed may not be bad start since it basically is a re-imagining (a little) of the very first gundam series but with updated animation and different setting & characters, though don't watch its sequel. Gundam 00 wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either (for me).

I'll keep that in mind. After Legend of the Galactic Heroes I think I can handle wordy as long as it's good.

Yeah importing's a bitch. Well as long as the show is decently entertaining (I don't have a high bar haha), I don't mind it creeping me out.

OH, and since not much gets a reaction out of you these days, maybe this will do the trick. Grave of the Fireflies

I have never seen an anime as depressing as that one. Its not really entertaining (no fighting, no romance, or the typical stuff) but man it leaves a powerful mark on you haha

How the hell can you finish that? Forget what I said, Gundam Wing will be a walk in the park for you haha

Sword Art Online. I actually got to episode 15 today after months of trying to get into this show, and I have dropped it again. Man... this show seems like it could have been a lot better if they made some changes in my opinion. It goes by wayyyy to fast. There can be like 10 episodes inbetween each episode... Its waaaay too emotional.... They try too hard to make Kirito badass....

Haven't yet, I'm 29/110. But I just started yesterday, so I'm making good time.

Mostly because I'm afraid that if I stop I'll lose my momentum. But it seriously is a good story.

While entertaining anime is good for when I just want to stare at a screen, I prefer more thought provoking, intelligent, or tragic anime (or all 3). I do also like romance, but not so much romantic comedies. Definitely prefer romantic tragedy. Or sweet romance like Kimi ni Todoke. I just don't like watching shows where I can point out every little cliche they use, no matter how much everyone else loves them.

I was totally expecting Attack on Titan to be another stereotypical action anime, but in the end it was so much more and I ended up loving it. I kind of avoided it until I decided, "I'll just check it out to see what it is." Glad I did.

Hmm...

I'd say, Gundam Wing, and One Piece. It's the only Gundam I can't stand, and don't get me started on the aspects of One Piece that are horrible(in my opinion)
