Illegal links for anime

To be honest I wonder why CR doesn't take an active role in at least getting the illegal YouTube uploads removed and try to stir those watching it here.

Guess they could report it like any other user but I am not sure if licensees have the same rights as copyright holders to request takedowns. |

People.....you have to remember this:
Crunchyroll went legal not to long ago. and even then. The video library of anime here doesn't contain every anime. Yes, crunchyroll is awesome, and much better than alot of anime sites. But, most people care about being able to watch shows, fast and easy. Which is why people watch anime on other sites, legal or non-legal. But, for those others who just insult and/ or refuse to go to crunchyroll for anime streaming. Those are just the people of the internet for you, youtube/ 4chan users and extc. Crunchyroll is new and has alor going for it. Even with those other illegal sites, which die off after like 4 years or so, and those youtube videos, which youtube removes those type of videos every couple of years of so. Crunchyroll is the main source for anime, period. Yes, I am aware of those 'other' legal places. But, those places just do not have a heart or soul like crunchyroll does with it's anime. I.E. If I see a series coming to crunchyroll, I hardly ever see the series just stop, most series on crunchyroll runs it full course. gintama is the best example for this. Ever since crunchyroll picked it up. the show just keeps on airing episodes, and they even made a character in the show which was a obvious thank you to crunchyroll. In short: Crunchyroll has alot going for it, and is still new..in legal stand points. So, just because other anime viewers on other site say something bad about crunchyroll, doesn't mean it's true. Most likely, they are just being stubborn, or are just to stuck in their ways. Either or..crunchyroll has a heart, unlike most anime sites and this shows on every anime uploaded here. This is why I pay, nothing more, nothing less |

When I find an anime I want to watch, my first choice is to watch it legally via my Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix accounts. If the anime is not available legally, then a fansub is getting torrented. And that's all there is to it.

I've got friends who have illegally downloaded an anime to see if they like it and then purchased the anime once they found that they did. And I've watched bootleg anime and then gone out a bought it when I saw something I liked. I've also watched anime and been very glad I didn't have to waste money to learn how much it sucked.

I would buy more anime if they sold whole seasons in box sets. what's with the ridiculous volumes they sell them at. I remember 1 volume of FMA which contained 3,or 4 episodes selling for 17.50. I mean that's ridiculous I got Cowboy bebop, the soundtrack, and the movie for only 33.00 dollars. I got trigun for only 20 dollars. I got GTO for 36.00 dollars. anyone know where I can get a full season of Gintama for a decent price. I wouldn't mind owning the first 5 seasons.

I've watched and currently still watch certain animes that aren't legally streamed simply because I can't afford multiple memberships on several different websites like CR.
The situation with anime is similar with manga, people fantranslate it because it's not licensed in certain countries and languages, the most obvious one being English, I don't exactly condone this but I don't condemn it either, you have to remember these people do it out of their own time with no incentives. I certainly can't imagine myself doing this even if I had the knowledge and time. |

Because its an endless task. The leech streaming websites have volunteers that upload the titles to their favorite site that get taken down for copyright reason from their original source. Crunchyroll's strategy is to compete on quality and convenience. hpulley wrote: Guess they could report it like any other user but I am not sure if licensees have the same rights as copyright holders to request takedowns. It depends upon the contract. Some contracts include terms that give the licensee authority to take action in a particular region. However, that's normally because the license holder put it in because they don't want to bother with looking at piracy outside of Japan, and it can be a pain for the licensee, especially if some people on the production committee are old geezers who don't understand how the internet works. keelo wrote: I would buy more anime if they sold whole seasons in box sets. what's with the ridiculous volumes they sell them at. Ten years ago that was normal, to sell by "volume", just as in Japan, and then later to sell a collected box set. Nowadays they rarely do that, except for Aniplex who sells their titles in smaller quantities and higher prices pretty much to the collector market. Except for the premium priced Aniplex volumes, are there any more anime that they sell by volume? Funimation and Sentai/Section23 sell one or two broadcast seasons at a time. When I looked for Gintama at RightStuf and Amazon, what I found were 13-episode collections, so a full broadcast season at a time. They go for $30 a set at RighStuf, unless you wait for a Funimation sale. The best price were some of the "other sellers" at Amazon, selling the newer seasons for about $26 including US shipping. List price $40, $30 online for a broadcast season is a normal price, unless its a bargain release of a title that has been out for five or seven years and is about to go off license like Funimation's S.A.V.E. line. |

Until SAO brought me to crunchyroll i just watched wherever i could find a whole season. But when i saw the 1080p HD(seeming at least) episode 1 of SAO my jaw literally dropped and i mentally teared up. And now I'm hooked on CR. I'll end up buying membership when the trial runs out, and keep it until the site stops having interesting anime.
