It makes it more awesome in my opinion

to the Op: Unless you missed highschool, being hit by a girl is a good thing. they only hit the guys they like and will never act that way to a stranger. you also have to realize that it is always the guys fault, always has been and most likely always will. They just put more emphasis on it in anime because it is hard to convey some emotions to an audience.

Girls tend to playfully hit guys they like, I think like most aspects of anime it's just a hyperbolic representation of real life.

You are not alone in disliking these shallow, boring characters. Basically this kind of slapstick is tired beyond belief, and only keeps kicking around because traditional "girl" roles are so crappy (especially for shounen). Also, a good tsundere character is truly rare. Compare the shrieking, slapping, snotty, typical tsundere character to the queen of all tsunderes: Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari. When Araragi initially gets too close to her she attempts to drive him off by stapling the inside of his cheek, and she regularly torments him as a way to show her love. But when she is sweet she is amazingly sweet.

To be honest, people really don't accidentally see other people naked that often. It's starting to become a cliche, you just know it's going to happen in any "romance" genre.

BECAUSE THEY CAN

I think it's because they think that it directs the person's attention they're trying to attract. Remember the school girl running with the bread in her mouth?



She's hoping to run into that guy she wants to pay attention to her. Of course, it's a 50/50 chance whether they guy will be annoyed or get slapped because he accidentally looked up her skirt. That got played out so more enticing scenarios were thought up. The guy getting randomly punched for doing something perverted, the friendly girl that laughs at everything and hits him playfully (usually hurts the guy because girl doesn't know her strength), and the most recent one, guy getting beat up for accidentally walking in on a girl, or a girl walking in on him (he still gets beat up). The one fact I know from anime like this, it's always the guy's fault because he misreads the girl's intention or doesn't pay attention to the signs she gives (even if he's in the right, he's wrong. Seems up guys can't win huh?) But like mhibicke said, the girl doesn't just give harassment/beat up any guy they meet on the street. Only the guy they love. Loves hurts you know. Just that in this case, it hurts both mentally and physically

Because Japanese guys get boners off getting smacked around. That's why its so popular in Japan.

Boners = more Blu Rays being sold.

More Blu Rays being sold = More Anime

More Anime = Boners

Repeat.

Maybe they find it annoying when guys use an apostrophe to make a plural.

Cuz it's funny? That's what I think at least.

Yeah that makes perfect sense, I'm American so I wouldn't understand the nature of a Japanese man. But after reading stories about how Japanese men get horny over women dominating them in animes I can see why the anime industry makes more of those types of animes because it brings in the most money. Where that they can make new animes from those types of guys buying blu-ray versions of the DVDs and merchandise.

But still in my opinion I honestly want to smack the girl who smacks the guy in all the animes and show her what's up. I don't care if it's abuse in other peoples opinions if the girl smacks me be sure shes gonna get smacked right back.
