You must be new to the forums. You've got us all wrong. Just look at the other threads in general discussion. Thanks to all the majority of threads being about boobs, sex, and the like, most of us here are now pretty much relationship gurus. There is not a problem we cannot fix.

1) Because they don't have any friends?
2) Because their friends are still single?
3) Because they don't know how to talk to a girl and land a hot date?
4) Because they need that confidence boost that their douche-bag friends don't usually provide?
5) Because they're socially inept in every aspect?
6) Because there are so many topics like those already it won't hurt to start another one?
7) Because they're seeking attention?
8) Because they're single?
9) Because they're identity remains anonymous online so its okay to ask stupid, personal or pointless questions?
10) Because I don't know?

I'd like to believe that having an interest in anime doesn't stop people from being human beings and having at least a basic understanding of how human beings work.

I'd rather ask my romantic questions here anonymously than to one of my family or friends any day. On the internet it's easy to ask these sort of questions because nobody knows who you really are and it's also nice to ask people who share an interest with you even if what your talking about isn't anime. You also get a lot more responses here then you would offline and CR also has a great community with quick replies and nice people (most of the time) so you'll get much kinder and friendly answers than you would on Yahoo Answers, etc.

I never thought I'd see somebody with those kind of feelings for a web site... oh, wait.

Well, many of the anime series on here are romances, which suggests many people visiting the site are interested in that.
It's not surprising that people ask about something they're interested in, and it's only natural they'd ask on a site that they frequent and probably are already posting on. Also, one has to consider the age of the average anime fan, and that people in that age group would have a lot of questions on the topic, being a new interest they likely have little experience with.

It is funny though, considering that the stereotypical anime fan is a nerdy weirdo and/or loser, which isn't generally an image that does wonders for one's love life. Note, I'm not saying they are, only that seems to be a common view people have of them - basically as a weirder variant of the "gamer" stereotype.

Given that there are a crap-ton of RP (Role Play) groups on here, I'm honestly not surprised. Like any site you visit frequently, there's bound for relationships to pop up (and break up, just the same).

I mean it's not like we don't hear about relationships (including marriage) popping up on the strangest sites.

I don't think it is any more strange than asking advice on any other site. If people feel they need advice why not ask on here? after all the general section is for discussions not related to anime.

I think it's funny that you think just because someone likes anime it automatically means they can't offer advice on romantic relationships.

I've never been married, but sometimes my mum asked me for advice on her marriage to my dad... and I can offer the advice because I'm an analytical person. And sometimes people need a third party's point of view, it's necessary about getting "someone more experienced" to tell you the answers.

However, I don't offer advice on stupid questions like, "He looked at me while in class and smile, what does that mean?" or "He said he would text, but didn't, does that mean he hates me?".
